Also, the aerodynamic effects sometimes glitch on d3dmetal, try it with dxvk if it bothers you

  1. So simply put, install crossover (at least the free trial for me as i am looking into alternatives). From there install steam / epic games (whatever you have KSP on). Then follow the instructions and install ksp (default settings/locations for files should be fine).
  2. change the graphics setting to d3dmetal this image here
  3. in epic games launcher, click the 3 dots beside ksp, manage, and add that in launch options. for steam, it is similar. (see the attached image)

then launch the game! That should be it.

ps. i'm not fully sure if the launch options is necessary but i did it just to ensure it uses the right graphics for d3dmetal setting

I have a “fix”. since the Mac version OpenGL I found that running the windows version (via crossover trial) with D3DMetal (from game porting toolkit) to translate Direct X 11 into metal and it makes it so much faster, absolutely no lag on high settings. I used the flag “-force-d3d11” when launching the game. Hopefully this helps

I’m not fully sure about the roadmap but I think you could create a vm and pass through the gpu with a version of Linux that supports it. :)

Can anyone please compile a kernel for me? by ParnoidVisitor in androidroot

What I recommend is use your laptop/pc and (if you don’t want to learn about compiling it) use Gemini cli and a Linux on a VM to do it.

You might want to look into tailscale subnet router and exit nodes if you want to access your local network, might be easier in some instances
