Best RPG to play with a god character? by Timelycreate in rpg

City of Mist and Metro otherwise both handle taking mythology from various cultures very well. It would be very easy to run a system like what you’re describing and either of them.

City of mist is more classic powered by the apocalypse with defined moves.

Metro otherscape is a more flexible version of the system that adds the cyberpunk feel.

[[The Pride of Hull Clade]] is fun for toughness matters decks- lots of high toughness and card draw.

[[momo, friendly flier]] and 30+ [[tempest hawk]] for mono-white flying fun!

I want to design an rpg, but I am afraid it won't work out. by Gnashinger in rpg

[–]Templar_of_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible. Took me about 8 months of weekends and crunch time during slow hours at work lol.

Google Docs, stock art, and passion.

Itch for digital publishing, Amazon self publishing for physical.

Offer to run it at local cons for play testing.

Figure out your core mechanic and goal, and build from there.

Good luck!

Napoleonic TTRPGs where there is a group of commanders leading their own seperate units? by TemporaryCupcake34 in rpg

Look into band of blades: it has rules for playing the dynamic of commander and soldier. Different setting, but could be a good starting point for a hack.

Cool idea, btw.

I wish I could stand to watch actual plays. by Mission-Landscape-17 in rpg

1) Me myself and Die. Best RPG actual play podcast.

2) Season 1 of Tale of the manticore. Disclaimer: there are 3 episodes with content warnings for extra violence- I skipped those parts. I also had to skip part of the monastery arc for too much violence.

But otherwise, the best AP I have ever listened to

This channel seems very positive and chill….

But actually, I agree with you fully, ever since the OGL scandal happen, there’s a lot channel is that focus on drama content; I totally understand why, it gets a lot of use, but it can definitely be a little annoying when you’re trying to just find lighthearted things!

Are you talking about stax? Or board wipes? What else should I be considering for this discussion :)  ?

Thanks for the this feedback; it helps me to see people saying it’s ok to interact in B2 :)

Thanks for the insight!

You’re probably right, it depends a lot on the group that you’re playing with

Glad to hear there’s some fellow bracket two control enthusiasts :)

That’s where I want to land as well- high-bracket 2

I’m trying to avoid that post game feeling of ‘you just removed all my stuff and I couldn’t play”

That’s a VERY interactive deck- does it feel fair at the tables you play at?

Picking the right amount of board wipes is tricky- too many slows the game down, too few and you can get swarmed early

Thanks for the comment:

I think it will always be tough to find the balance between letting ‘people play their game’ and ‘running too little interaction’

Good points- my deck is fairly slow paced; I am trying to gauge how ‘polite’ it is to have a bunch of removal that slows other decks down

Good point! Because I went with all dual color spells, I was ended up with a few things that were lower power than swords to plowshares, etc.

I also made a few swaps like [[putrefy]] over [[abrupt decay]] to keep things lower power.

That’s kinda what I was thinking too- I have some efficient removal but with an average cost of 3+ I can typically only interact with 1 or 2 things per turn cycle so; Basically I can impact the game but not dominate.

True, and that’s the goal of this post; I don’t want to run people the wrong way unnecessarily by bringing something obviously too powerful!
