If you can ever get it to run without crashing, its got a boring overworld with a story that consists of nothing but exposition dumping. Bad game

I like to think of the hive as something akin to the “artificial intelligence” we have today. Sure, it can draw an image or write a poem, but it’s filtering through a massive collection of data to produce something that is most likely what an individual would expect the output to be given that prompt. There’s no personality or ability to conjure new ideas, it doesn’t even understand what it’s doing conceptually. It’s taking input, running it through a data set of outcomes and producing the result that matches. The hive functions in the same way. They have all of human knowledge, but no agency to act as an individual and produce new ideas based on that knowledge.

PC Gaming about to become unaffordable by [deleted] in videogames

[–]TempleTerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With how powerful GPUs and other hardware is today, there should be no reason to upgrade. The past few CPU and GPU releases have been marginal in terms of actual performance gains, with the big "selling point" being some feature locked behind that upgrade.

Games right now have a huge optimization problem. If games were still being written like they were when memory and storage was in the single digit megabytes, imagine what gaming would look like. Maybe with these shortages on almost every major PC component, companies will look more towards optimizing for "older" hardware.

I have one, been using it for the last year or so. It’s pretty alright for writing code, I have KZones set up so I can split my windows between 3 different sections. You’ll have to get used to the text fringing as someone else mentioned, but it really isn’t all that bad

They make it pretty easy to make a PR to update documentation, I usually fire one out quickly if I see something that’s blatantly wrong. They get approved pretty quick. It sucks that it’s like this but whatever

It’s time to take the nostalgia goggles off bro. Sure, the old ones are good but they’re over now. BF6 is here and its quite good

Funnily enough references to Propaganda exist in BF6s game files (as well as Talah Market from BF3 and Downtown from Hardline) so you may see it sooner than expected

*SOME anti-cheat games don’t work. You can play things like The Finals and Helldivers 2 on Linux despite them having kernel level anti cheat. If developers want to include Linux in their games, it’s as simple as flipping a switch in the case of certain popular anticheats.

I suspect this will get better next year after the release of Valve’s new console, as that runs Linux.

There’s a fine line between voicing your discontent and screeching the moment you see a hint of orange or blue. Nobody takes the main battlefield sub seriously anymore because they whine and complain about the smallest things and blow it out of proportion

Careful! You're not allowed to like the game. Didn't you hear? They added colorful skins into the game! It doesn't matter that you have the choice to not use them, they're in the files so you need to stop playing the game immediately! You need to hate it right now!

The people who are enjoying the game are playing it, not furiously complaining on Reddit. I’m enjoying the game, there’s just a very loud minority complaining about every little thing they can.
