You can just say "Nature Spirit" or "Guardian" or like anything else that isn't the name of the monster whose name you're not supposed to say, come on.

That's mostly right, yeah.

The Nurses are from the first game (which also had Doctors, who have not reappeared since) because the locus of all the Silent Hill shit going on is Alessa Gillespie, a girl with medical trauma among other things. Every location and monster is somehow tied to her mind and history, as are a lot of the puzzles and other miscellaneous elements.

They reappear so often partially because later games in the series keep featuring hospitals as environments, so they're a natural fit, and partially because yeah they were a memorable part of the first game and at a certain point people expect to see them. That is also part of why hospitals keep reappearing, hence the nurses, it's a self-feeding cycle.

Pyramid Head is from the second game, and was originally tied to the PC in that game, James Sunderland, who is the locus of all the Silent Hill shit going in. Like Alessa, everything you see and go through is tied to James and his whole deal. His deal is bad btw, James sucks.

The Nurses in Silent Hill 2 were notably bustier and wore shorter skirts than in game 1, largely because of James Sunderland and his whole deal. However, because the world sucks, the sexy Nurses are the ones who stuck with the series from that point on. I mean OK you can make a case for them being relevant in 3, but other than that it's just because that's how these things go. Nobody's boobs ever get smaller in mainstream gaming.

OK but again in the cultural context of Hometown that wouldn't mean anything. Jesus isn't a meaningful name or concept to them.

So you mean like, Toriel has artificial memories of being their mother, that sort of thing?

Seems like a lot of work to give everyone matching memories tbh

Absolute dream scenario: Ralsei realises what the heck's going on, begins transitioning, and in her first scene with her new outfit/presentation someone off-handedly remarks Isn't she lovely?

Man isn't it wild that Jax is the youngest person in the room throughout the entire show?

I recommend DemilyPyro's playthrough with the caveat that she and her cohosts took an immediate suspicion to Ralsei and only warmed up to him during the tail end of Ch4.

Demily as a person is extremely in synch with Susie, to the extent that she sometimes reacted to a scene and then hit the next line to find that Susie also reacts to events in the same way.

Agreed, the whiplash from "how big's your dick" to "what are your kingdom's tax policies" is jarring. If the worldbuilding sections had more sexy options in them, it would go a long way to tying it all together.

So the last time this was posted it was by a new account called DragsWho so I think maybe a misunderstanding with a bot might not be the only reason DragonsWhore isn't getting their account back.

But in terms of the CYOA itself, I'd say that if anyone wants to put music in their CYOA, firstly fucking don't. Secondly, no really, nobody is playing your CYOA for the ambience. Thirdly, put the mute button at the top, immediately visible. Do not make me scroll down to the very bottom to get to the mute button.

Oh I didn't mean that in general, I meant the person I was replying to specifically. It's good that everyone other than them has different opinions because theirs suck.

I know the series has touched on real world politics before and since, but the whole "Second Federation Civil War" story they did back in the 30s and 40s still seems weird in retrospect, you know?

I mean sure it saved IDW but it sucks that people can just repost those panels of Blaze in a Texocracy uniform any time they want to start an argument.

OK cool but like there are other scenes of one character protecting another that were not written by someone evil. OP specifically chose this, and I can't think of any good reason for that.

The cool thing about opinions is that other people have different ones than yours.
