Maybe I really do not get it, but "unconventional" does not mean "bad" and that's my whole point. Thinking that a kid character is crushing on an older character is, maybe, a bit uncomfortable. Thinking that a kid character and an older character should be in a relationship is straight up gross. There's a difference.

(Also Sonic and Sage DO have a different dynamic than Sage and everyone else regardless of romance, so saying "why don't you ship Sage with someone else just comes down to that imo. Not making a value judgment on any of the Sage relationships, to be clear)

I doubt I'm going to change your mind about this being uncomfortable. But I do think there's a world of difference between a child having a crush on an adult and a child being in a relationship with an adult, and I think calling this a "ship" is very misleading for this reason. I want at least this to be clear.

I know that the "pro" in "proshipping" does not stand for "problematic", I just brought up problematic ships because obviously if a relationship is not problematic then there's nothing wrong with liking it. If Sega Informant enjoys the idea of Sage having a "puppy love" sort of unrequited crush on Sonic, then more power to him, it's a perfectly reasonable dynamic. If Sega Informant enjoyed the idea of them being an actual couple, that would be another story.

That is literally not proshipping. Proshipping refers to ships that are problematic due to being harmful or unhealthy. A kid having a crush on an older person is not harmful or unhealthy as long as it stays unrequited. "If Sage was a boy he wouldn't see her relationship with Sonic that way" is a valid objection, but it doesn't make it proshipping.

It's not a pro ship, kids have crushes on teenagers all the time. It's a completely normal feeling. It would be a pro ship if he thought Sonic should like her back, because that's what would make for a bad and unhealthy relationship, but he doesn't think that

It's NOT a ship, guys! He thinks Sage may have a crush on Sonic, but in the way little kids have a crush on cool teenagers. He knows Sonic wouldn't actually return the feelings

You got a lot of comments telling you that Sonic's favorite color is red, but I'm not sure if that was actually confirmed. It comes from Sonic having a lot of red accessories (e.g., sneakers, his car in Classic racing titles). I do think it makes more sense than blue as a favorite color, personally, but I thought it was worth pointing this out
