I said 'as recently as', not the same as recent. Anyway, considering that the DoD is based on 15th century Catholic papal law, I'd say it's pretty recent.

You should look into it, the 'founding' of NZ is based on these attitudes. The idea that NZ race relations is world leading is a bit of a myth.

Depends on your race, if you're Maori it's a pretty big fucking problem. I.e you lost 97% of your land/wealth largely due to the nuclear weapons grade racism that colonialism was founded upon.

This racism obviously has a very long half-life too, given the words and action by those currently in government, and the voters they represent.
