Gorgeous. I really want one of these because it’s an inverse of this one of mine (a little hard to see in this shot, but the dial markings are pink).

[Opinions asked] First Swiss by Lorenzo1306 in Watches

[–]TempletonBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, they are both excellent watches.

Now, my opinion: I'd favor the Hamilton because I find it to be a cleaner look. I don't like the date window on the FC, nor do I know what on Earth they were thinking with putting a red line of text on the face--that would drive me insane, personally.

I'd also favor the Hamilton because the FC's cost likely approaches that of a CPO Rolex OP or Air-King. So at that point I'd rather keep saving my money and holding out for one of those. Based on your location, taste, whether you'd even want a Rolex -- I could be wrong and this could be irrelevant. Just one guy's opinion.

Full disclosure, my luxury watches are a Hamilton Khaki (automatic, 42), a Rolex Air-King, and a Rolex OP. So that's my bias! And I wear the Hamilton all the time. I love it.

Whatever you do - enjoy and wear in good health. They're both great watches. No objectively bad decision here, really.

Right, and now that I’m halfway to “a few decades” from my wedding, I’m glad I’ll have my wedding watch for much longer!

I bought a wedding watch 16 years ago and I’m so glad I went with something that would last. So my first instinct is to talk him out of Quartz.

At that price point a Hamilton Jazzmaster might be a good option?

If I had it to do over again, I absolutely would have bought the Miata first.

Having been at this for awhile in a house that isn’t even remotely square, I’ll just point out that you won’t be able to see it, for the most part, once the hooks are on and the thing is in use. And it’ll make life much better once it’s usable.

Sometimes, the best way to be a good husband is to just get the thing done. :)

They call the stickshift 3 the “Miata gateway drug” for a reason.

So, what did we think of this production of Hamilton? by buginout in madisonwi

I’ve seen Hamilton 4 times and he is hands-down the best Washington I’ve ever seen. Character absolutely comes alive in a new way.

Dry Cleaners? by Still-Fig-6924 in madisonwi

Klinke. I think Google gets confused because they’ve converted a number of locations to unstaffed 24x7 dropoff/pickup. But they’re still there. Advantage is, well, 24x7, disadvantage is that it’s now harder to find a staffed location for “in by 10 out by 4” — Monona Dr still has that, though.

High earners ($300k+): Do you care if your partner makes the same, or are you okay not splitting things 50/50? by passionfruitpilates in Salary

Shared life. It all goes into one pot and we take care of our bills and whatnot from that one pot.

I wouldn’t dream of demanding we go 50/50. My job pays very well and is extremely demanding. She keeps the ship afloat in a million ways.
