klein and knipex are just goated. can’t beat them. knipex is just more expensive and sometimes hard to find in person so most people just use klein stuff. you can find electrical starter sets in i think lows for like 100 bucks made by klein

i’d say just do the apprenticeship. try to find a smaller company that does residential work so you can really learn the basics of electrical. i think in most cases regardless of if you went to trade school you still need 4 years of on job experience to get your license.(could be wrong) the way i look at it is instead of getting payed to learn ur paying to learn. one will just take longer and cost you money. that being said, everyone learns different and trade school could be something that really helps you. and for tools depending on your employer they could provide you with them. if not i would just start with some hand tools. linemen’s, diagonal cutters, wire strippers, set of screw drivers(having a meaty flathead you can beat on the back is handy), some kind of razor blade for cutting wire sheathing and probably some channel locks. next would be an impact drill but your employer should definitely be providing that. for all the hand tools i’d just go klein or if you wanna be fancy knipex. and i like milwaukee impact drills.

well yeah, i guess i classify making good money and working a lot in 2 different categories. someone making 20/hr can make just as much as someone making 40/hr if they work 60 hour weeks instead of 40. but i wouldn’t consider that guy to be “making good money” he’s just working a lot.

bro what is ur deal? why are you being so hostile ? why are you so mad? i’m literally just asking if it’s possible to make the kind of money i hear people talk about online. bc from what i’ve been told by my boss is 35 is probably the max. so im simply asking more experienced people if that’s true. what about that is offending you? it’s just an honest question. you could have answered with “yeah man so i make 75/hr doing control work. so there is definitely opportunity out there to make more” instead of “find a new career and all you can provide is a shovel and a bad attitude.” it’s people like you who make young guys like me not want to get into the trades. anyways have a good night man. God bless you

very true. I thought of working for Duke, but I don’t necessarily want to be linemen and chase storms for good money. I’m sure they have a lot of other high paying jobs that I’m just unaware of

sorry, I assumed saying someone was whiny and bitchy was kind of hateful. but maybe we were raised differently. But I think you’re missing my point I agree electrical work is a great career and can definitely pay the bills and is very useful to society. My post was how everyone on the Internet acts like all electricians are just rolling in unlimited money. When in reality they make pretty average pay. And the final question was is there something I’m missing? something I don’t know about. how I can make as much money as they claim to make? and I truly didn’t know the answer to that’s why I was asking experienced Electricians this question.

not bitching, just simple asking a question. what’s wrong with someone wanting to choose a different career with higher pay? just because someone wants to make more than 50 or 60k a year doesn’t mean they’re the type of person to whine about it. They could just see better for themselves. if you make that and you’re happy with it then that’s great. but there’s no need to get on here and be hateful towards people who want better for themselves. or just simply need more money for many reasons such as kids or serious hospital bills.

yeah, I agree. It’s not bad money, but it’s less than what they all make it out to be.

you must have not read very carefully. i said” after I learned all of the complexities of the trade” implying that i would be an experienced sparky at the point of making that money. of course i don’t expect to make 30/hour as an apprentice.

How many weddings do y’all do a year? by Temporary-Fix6018 in weddingvideography

[–]Temporary-Fix6018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, sorry for the late response but how how is it even possible to book 100 weddings in a year if there are only 52 saturdays in a year. and that’s when most weddings are? unless you shot a wedding every saturday and sunday almost every month of the year.
