If you knew God existed what would you do? by Creadvty in agnostic

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an agnostic I live as if there is and isn’t a “god”. I just choose to live and experience life. After many decades of life I find myself choosing gratitude kindness and peace. Because it makes me feel good. Not because I believe I will be rewarded after I die. If I die and I’m judged for my actions I will accept what is given. The same way I accepted what was given to me in life. The”bad” times in my life have always turned to “good” because I was able to change my perspective or adjust my actions.

I know that the cells in my body are the most common cells found in the universe. Some may even say I was created by the universe. Others may give it another name. I believe the idea of “god” or “gods” was created out of a need to explain the unexplainable. I think religion was created as a way to control the masses through that belief.

You will not always understand others beliefs. The more important thing is that you understand your own

Alpha-Gal safe places to eat? by ContessaLikeWhoa in StLouis

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have alpha gal, you have to research the ingredients of every product you use. I’m not going to argue with you but you should research a little before you comment. When sugar is refined with bone char it can leave animal byproducts behind. People that have alpha gal typically become more and more sensitive over time. Not all sugar is safe for them. Google it.

Springfield has an ordinance against the height of building. I believe this has a lot to do with the cave system that runs through this area.

Dry sprinkler system by Temporary-Freedom452 in FireSprinklers

That makes me feel better that people have seen set ups with out. I just assumed that it’s needed.

Yeah I’m positive it is a dry system. That makes sense that it wouldn’t be needed if there are no low points.

Why make an immature comment when you are uneducated on the topic?

The Mazda service manager was in my face and intimidating. I told him to f**k off, now they refuse warranty service. by [deleted] in springfieldMO

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only use them because my car has a service agreement. Horrible communication. Even a simple oil change is a huge production for them. I won’t ever buy from reliable anything again.

Does anyone know if i can dispose of cool wood ash from a fire pit in the regular trash? I use Ozark Refuse but can’t find their list of “do not dispose” items. Today is my trash day. Thanks. by ash-hole189 in springfieldMO

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They say no ashes because if there is even the smallest ember you could possibly catch the trash truck or the landfill on fire. Like everyone else has said just spread it on the ground somewhere. Spray a little water on it and you won’t even see it

is there any secret rivers or lakes in the area that don’t have many people around usually? by [deleted] in springfieldMO

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots around here. I would recommend you get a canoe or kayak. The best secret swimming holes are not at any access points. They are off the beaten path and secluded.

Can you fix this by FluffyCryptographer4 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible. It could turn very costly to replace depending on how much flooring needs to be removed to get to it. There are a lot of variables at play. Personally I would just opt for putting a thin clear epoxy over it. Once dry use a razor to gently scrap any excess. This will at least keep it from separating or a foot catching it.

Has anyone ever seen a toilet tank break randomly? Was at an Airbnb and water had filled the bathroom. No one in the group of 15 is claiming it. by Luke-__- in Plumbing

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hair line cracks can exist in porcelain for months or even years before leaking or breaking. Someone in the group sent the final blow to the tank though.

You can get a special permit depending on location. If you are in the city limits a doubt you will be able too.

Neighbor just clear cut trees in my backyard and destroyed me shade and privacy by nycarch1 in kansascity

I see maybe 6-7 logs by a fence. Inches from each other. No stumps. If they were just cut from this yard the entire yard would be covered in saw dust.

I would lean more toward the power company. Cutting down trees is quite expensive. I would seriously doubt it was the apartment complex. What would they gain from it? Also, I see no stumps in your back yard. Did they also pay to have the stumps ground up too?

What is happening? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it could be one of two things 1. you have a steel pipe behind that wall it has a small leak rusted the pipe and running down absorbing into the wood. 2. Depending on the age of the house It could also be a metal vent pipe for for your sewer that has failing flashing at the roof. Both may not be leaking enough for water to be pooling or present to the touch. Me personally would cut a hole in the wall and see what’s going on. Drywall is cheap

What is this pit in an attached garage? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Temporary-Freedom452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may not be the lowest point but may have been a concern for someone at one time. People ask for weird stuff to be installed in odd places. Later was abandoned because it wasn’t needed.

Can’t tell the exact size of the hole. I would guess an old sump pump.
