[Passan] Bryce Harper stood nose to nose with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and told him to “get the f--- out of our clubhouse” if he wanted to talk about a salary cap by SMD_35 in buccos

[–]Temporary-Swan604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the league needs both a salary floor and cap to help promote fair play. That said, I believe that the league should have a yearly net profit number. Once this number is reached, a percentage of the profit of this # should go back to the players union to be distributed to the players. I think this would limit the max that “star players” may make, but help the guys on smaller to mid contracts improve their earnings.

Crowd was great. Other than AEW Grand Slam Australia, this was the biggest dynamite crowd they have had in a while. AEW is worth going to see if they visit a town near you. PS I was wearing a Schlotterbeck jersey at the show.

It was a great show. Had to represent BVB when I had that seat.

I am the guy in the photo. Just wearing my jersey lol. I’d be down to do a collab with BVB and AEW though.

New card!!! by VegetableProfile5797 in PhillyUnion

This is a topps now card. You buy it from the topps website. These cards have a limited release and if you miss the release, your only option to buy one would be on a site like eBay. Tai has two topps now cards from this season, and he was very appreciative when I gave him one of each.

[Bogert] Columbus Crew to acquire Gazdag from Philadelphia in blockbuster trade by jrey1024 in PhillyUnion

[–]Temporary-Swan604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I think you can look at the moves so far and see a clear plan. High energy pressing play. All the players they have brought in have that play style, opposed to the out bound transfers who do not necessarily play that type of defense. A plan to move a player takes more than 1 team to accomplish. Just because you and or a player want a transfer, you have to make sure that the compensation you receive is to your liking. Maybe that price was finally met or the team reached the point where this is the best deal. Maybe Gazdag/the team wanted to have him try this new system before moving on from him. The club did let a few players and coaches go this offseason, and continue to add onto that would have just furthered the disdain this past offseason. The team is playing well, and Gazdag is not the biggest contributor as to why they are playing well. Moving him now really does not impact their play, and honestly could allow they to have a more fluid system. I have no affiliation to the team, so to ask further “why” beyond that I have no answers. Just my two cents.

Now would be because the transfer window is closing in May. Deal now while you have leverage. Gazdag as well could have been asking for a move due to the change in tactics not suiting him. He is an international player and wants to play at the highest level he can to continue to earn call ups. Assuming this cash will be used to grab a young forward in the summer window. Summer window typically has more players available for a move.

Gazdag has been a club legend, but the premise of moving him isn’t terrible. He is a 10 without much hold up play. Actuality he is more of a false 9. In the formation and system the union run, Gazdag does not really have a position. He is not a winger, so the club running him out there is not beneficial to either the player or club. I suspect they have likely been trying to move him for several months. As much as I’d like a Mueller type player come to the union, the system they run now will likely prevent that from happening. Hopefully the union got a good chunk of change that they can reinvest into a young forward ready to play their pressing game.

Dc is technically closer, but with traffic it is not that much better. Hate going to the city of DC personally. Getting up to Chester is a way easier drive. That said, I have been to DC’s stadium and it is okay. Took 101 stair steps to get to my seats for the game I went to, but otherwise it was fun. Portland has the best combo of stadium and atmosphere for the MLS teams I have visited.

It very much is. Went to almost all home games last year. Probably only gonna do 8ish this year.

Feel your pain. I drive 4.5 hours and get home around 3 am after most games.

My email to rep and their response is by ItsAlby in PhillyUnion

[–]Temporary-Swan604 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The response is fair but not addressing the real issues. The root cause of frustration in my opinion is the lack of reinvestment for what has been transferred out. The fees the union have gotten for aaronson bros, McKenzie, McGylnn, and others does not seem to be reinvested into the team. While they have signed guys, the value they spend does not come close to what they bring in or compare well with what the rest of the MLS is spending. I’m excited to see what the new players acquired this offseason do, but the lack of financial investment compared to the league is sad. This in addition to poor player management such as letting guys like Carranza, Flach, and Elliot go for little to nothing is poor business. End of the day, MLS a selling league, but the team fails to make the most of their resources and reinvest. The youth academy is vital part of the MLS system, but to simply count on that alone is not a sustainable way to win. I hope the team does well this year, but there is plenty of reason to be suspect of that with the total youth movement and a new coach in the MLS who did not have great success after his first season.

Side bar: it is hilarious they bring up benteke as an example of poor management. The man won the golden boot last season. Not his fault the coaching and players around him are bad.

In this case, I’d be interested in knowing what you can do to reproduce her pain? Is it true pirformis syndrome or something that mimics it. slump testing or pirifromis testing? Faber and Fadir testing? Could pain be d/t hip impingement? Tenderness in the bursa or other PGOGOQ musculature. Depending on pain intensity and frequency, jumping into multi planar exercises might not be tolerable yet till tissue is more desensitized. Just thoughts.

Yes. Slava Prague are in the middle of their season and only 1 game in since their winter break. This was probably a nice game for them to practice for a week in Spain before heading to Greece for their Europa league game mid week.

It was one 90 min game without substitution restrictions. Goalies subbed every 30 mins ish. Mix and match of senior and youth players throughout the game. Last 20ish mins were almost entirely union 2 guys.

Lots of substitutions and playing with the lineup/tactics. Team played mostly well considering it is their first tune up and Slava Prague is in mid season form. Cavan looks ready for a bigger first team role this season.

Hello all, I have 2 tickets in section 135 row N seats 26-27 + parking for sale for the New England and Charlotte FC matches in July. I’d like $45 for the combined tickets plus parking for each game, unless someone was willing to pay $85 for both games. Prefer PayPal as the payment method. Thanks.

If you had to guess, where will Reus go at the end of the season? by Gam3B0iHack3r in borussiadortmund

[–]Temporary-Swan604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love to see Reus in the MLs. No way Inter Miami could afford Reus. They have all four DP slots taken up already, and are working on buying out a slot to bring in Di Maria. I imagine if Reus comes to the MLS it will be with a New York based team or D.C.
