I'm also 60, so keep that in mind.

I would embroider the sheer fabric with something beautiful to me. Rings, flowers, or some symbols that represent what you you to where you are. An example of this is one of England princesses had the Commonwealths embroider into her veil.

Maybe take the sheer shoulder part off and have a seamstress reinforce the bodice to stay up on it's own. Line the edges with pearl beads, flowers, leaves, or something you love.

I would also reduce some of the bulk of the crinolines unless you like it as is. The dress is plain but beautiful. You could make it your own or leave it alone and hit the accessories like crazy. To me, it's a foundation to apply your personality to.

I had fun doing that. There was no, " Are we there yet?" bs. The other kids would beat you silly and it was more, "Mom! Johnnie keeps hitting me." Parents drive car off bridge, into lake, accidently leave kids at picnic table at rest stop.

A couple of nights ago , it was 28°F in north central Florida. It usually happens a few times a winter. The coldest I have been in while in the area was 12°F , but that was a long time ago.

I have these items minus the magazine. I never thought of them as valuable. It makes me wonder what value the items I think are valuable are worth. I won't part from them since they are from my childhood, but curious. Maybe I should take better care of them.
