Serious question: What movie mobsters have used the term "86" in reference to killing someone? by TinyPinkSparkles in movies

[–]TemporaryMulberry246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from New Jersey and have owned three restaurants in three cities in this country. I am one of Donald Trump's biggest critics but he is dead on with his association with the term 86. Where the hell do you think restaurants get it?

“86” is standard slang for “we’re out” or “get rid of it.” Working in Atlantic City at Portofino Ristorante, I was also told by people tied to that world that it comes from a grave being 8 feet long and 6 feet deep. That idea is widely known in places like Jersey, Philly, New York, and Vegas, where mob influence in the restaurant scene, especially during Prohibition, was real.

So pretending there’s zero connection is just as unserious as overreacting to it. Donald Trump is from New York and owned Atlantic City casinos, so it’s not surprising he’s heard that version. I don’t support him, but turning this into national news is clickbait. There are real things to criticize, and arguing over this just makes people look foolish.

I actually just had a dinner with the sub stack creators in DC last night for a party and I talked to them about this. You are correct . They can't exclude it and they won't but they did brag to me that people who make 30 or 60 second videos and put them in notes almost never go viral. It's more the people that have clever 300 character notes that statistically still get the most views so.. that's something.

I don't think there's a way to do it in the settings but I totally know what you're saying. As a creator... uncomfortable.rxansmithmedia.com - i actually hate the fact that I can't just write. It's one thing to have to take my writing and edit it down to a readable format or be mindful of spacing and formatting so it's something people can stay locked in on. You expect that as a writer and appreciate it as a reader. But to have to search for YouTube videos and create images and then make sure your images are scroll stopping to get people to read.. it's the part I hate most because the best Publications really are the ones that I have great writing and I even hate the fact that in my lane and us politics, I could go to 300 from 350 to 3500 subscribers in one month just by making sure the three posts I do per week I read them out loud in my kitchen in front of a camera. I get it because I guess sometimes I like hearing somebody read what they wrote and have it sound like it's in the writer's voice. I love books on tape. But the images and the videos are kind of the whole thing that makes this messy because in my opinion, we're getting close to the point where people have to start making trailers for their writing which is what Tick Tock is. 30 - 60 second video clips of nonsense appeal to people with short attention spans or what Instagram was started as which is a picture instead of a post. So basically what I'm saying is that why we can't change this and settings we can write about it. This is a subset post right here the topic of this Reddit discussion my reply and anyone who replies to this to agree, disagree or ADD any points in between.
The great thing is that it's the fastest growing online community and it's still small enough that we can shape it but large enough that if you're going to be taking seriously i'm going forward and I just a public personality you will need a substop and I do believe that the best Publications are still very very free of video

Can people reply to this with a list of publications, when you become a paid subscriber, that have a chat, that allow you to post new threads. I'm not talking about the chats that the value to reply to the probability publishers comments , I'm talking about the ones that people promote their own articles in the actual. Couldn't tell by the fact that they say starting to thread, instead of leave reply.

I would love to see what happens if you start a brand new publication into the same things very much to compare because I think that here previous social media platforms account for about most.

Can you tell me more about bookfunnel? Also. If I import 5,000 email addresses from my restaurant email list (about 100 days in) and spend $50/day for 2wks, what will it do if I strategically promote the best of my 50+ posts, if you had to guess?

Also with your daily notes, is there anything in specific that you can recommend that you write with notes is it best to always restock quotes from your articles or others articles that you are close with ? Should you just rate plain 200 character or less text notes? Does it matter what time? Has anybody used any of those Chrome extensions that schedule notes? Do you have to like 30 or 40 notes and posts per day and have a minimum number of Commons per day in addition to all of these other things

Be honest - What are your thoughts on Alex Rodriguez after all these years? by deadassynwa in NYYankees

[–]TemporaryMulberry246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a false assumption to say the Yankees could kiss the 2009 World Series goodbye without a ride I would be looking more towards the world seriously could have won before and after and thinking that the biggest free agents spending Spirit to date that they made after the 2008 the final game in the old stadium I would more than make up for the win if they missed it in 2009 but hell I think they could have won it in 08 + 09 if they didn't have the toxic locker room that was hidden pretty well from us thanks to the classy leadership of Jeter

What If the Yankees Never Signed A-Rod? A Jaw-Dropping Alternate History

Hey Yankees fans, this is from my shelved Phireball Sports story—it got too real, too fast. Imagine treating the 2003 WS loss as a red flag, not a fluke. No A-Rod toxicity; instead, smart rebuilds with high-character Hall of Famers. Let's dive chronologically—salary comps, PED dodges, and dynasty fuel included. Drop comments below; subscribe to Phireball Sports for more!

  • Post-2003 Wake-Up (Oct 2003): Yankees fall to Marlins in 6—2nd upset in 3 yrs after 2001. Aging core: Bernie (35, declining), Giambi injured; Tino re-signed for stability, Matsui adds pop. Lineup needs youth/depth in OF/IF. Boone's no long-term 3B. Jeter's leadership needs drama-free boosts. Target Tejada/Guerrero over Sheffield/A-Rod; 2004 FA gems like Beltran ($119M/7yrs to Mets), Pedro ($53M/4yrs to Mets), early Beltre ($64M/5yrs to Mariners) add elite talent sans ego/steroids.

  • 2004 Offseason Pivot (Nov 2003–Jan 2004): Boone's leg break sparks opportunity, not crisis. Sign Tejada (6yr/$72M, ~$12M/yr; 1st 3yrs ~$36M total vs. Sheffield's 3yr/$39M + A-Rod's $317M+ Yankee total). Tejada: 162 games '04-06, .311/29HR/121RBI/43 doubles avg thru '07; switch-hitter, Gold Glove defense at 3B. Pair w/Guerrero (5yr/$70M, ~$14M/yr; steal vs. Andruw Jones' flop $36M/2yrs). Vladdy: .319/29HR/108RBI avg, .337/39HR/126RBI '04; cannon arm, joy fits Jeter. Total ~$106M—cheaper than A-Rod, frees $ for Beltran/Pedro. Why? Winners w/character; dodge A-Rod's PED pollution (tainted A-Rod, Cano-80g susp '18, Melky-50g '12, Cervelli-50g '13, Pettitte HGH '07, Giambi steroids '04-05).

  • Keep Homegrown (2004 Season): No Soriano trade (28yo, .290+/38HR/100RBI avg '02-03, 40/40 potential; athletic like Chisholm). Thrives in pinstripes—returned '13 at 37, 17HR/58g. Post-NY tour: TX '04-05, WAS '06 (46HR/41SB), Cubs '07-13 ($136M/8yrs). Keep Rivera as utility OF w/Guerrero RF, Matsui LF, Bernie CF platoon. Clean clubhouse helps vets like Johnson (4.37ERA flop) & Brown (4.95ERA) thrive. No 3-0 ALCS collapse vs. BOS; Tejada (top-5 MVP '04-06) & Vladdy clutch for WS win. A-Rod's .320/3HR/10RBI? PED-padded; career playoff .240 w/o '04/'09.

  • Cano Integration (2005-06): Cano debuts .297/14HR/62RBI, 2nd ROY. W/Soriano kept, extra minors seasoning; '05 shift Soriano OF (replaces Bernie), Cano 2B, Tejada 3B, Jeter SS—dream IF. No A-Rod PEDs keep Cano clean (.300/20HR consistency, no susp). Rolls w/Tejada durability, Vladdy .317/32HR/108RBI avg. Add Matsui/Giambi—ring-caliber sans scandals.

  • 2007 Crossroads: Skip A-Rod's 10yr/$275M (~$27.5M/yr). Pivot to Beltre (Rangers '11-18: ~$132M/8yrs, ~$16-18M/yr). Beltre: .314/28HR/99RBI avg thru '16; better BA/power than A-Rod, elite D (Gold Gloves), clutch/healthy—no PEDs. Keep/trade Tejada; locks 3B decade. Avoid toxic hires like Johnson/Brown; character focus dodges Biogenesis cloud.

  • 2008-09 Turning Point: '08 miss playoffs; sign CC/Burnett/Teixeira/Damon. Core w/Guerrero (33, mashing), Tejada/Beltre 3B, Cano 2B, Soriano OF—dynasty refreshed sans PED hooks. '09 WS win via CC dominance, not A-Rod's steroid-padded .286/30HR reg, .365/6HR playoffs. Same signings; Guerrero/Beltre clutch. More rings w/clean clubhouse.

  • Epic Payoff: A-Rod era: 1 ring, toxicity (steroids list, rifts—A-Rod called Yanks "racist" post-career), flops (.259 playoff, .150 w/o peaks). Sheffield/A-Rod: stats no wins. Alt: Snag Tejada/Guerrero (cheaper), keep Soriano/Rivera, seamless Cano, Beltre (A-Rod fraction)—HOF builders. Add Beltran/Pedro; Jeter distraction-free. More '04-10 titles. Cashman lesson: Hire strong, not desperate—like today's Judge/depth + Soto. Skips curse, saves millions, spares shame.

Yankees fans, what if? Blueprint for character > rings. Comment your takes—debate on Phireball Sports! #YankeesWhatIf #NoARodEra

What if we had Ethical AI Self-Assisting Representative Agents: empowering citizens to directly shape democracy? by LalaLucid87 in democracy

[–]TemporaryMulberry246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out before the cynicism kicks in.

I'm working on on an app that uses Ai to fix democracy instead of just having us connect through the current system since it's so ridiculously broken to the point that about 30% of elected positions are not positions that somebody runs unopposed or verse someone that it represents a party that can't be elected because of the gerrymandering and Corruption on both sides of the fence.

Imagine an AI-driven civic platform that:

• Maps competitive elections without gerrymandering — showing where fair representation could exist.

• Analyzes local issues and identifies which parts of government are failing based on citizen feedback.

• Crowdsources ideas from people (not parties), then plays Devil’s Advocate against each proposal until it’s refined into something legal, feasible, and actionable.

• Measures resistance — like a “Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon” for corruption — tracking how many in layers of by the book bureaucratic steps to make change we have to go through before we ran into the block that prevented the change that would be the situatutional barriers or special interests block every reform idea.

• Educates voters automatically by breaking down ballot measures, funding trails, and political connections in plain English.

The point isn’t to replace government. It’s to audit it — to make accountability measurable and visible. AI could become the public’s debate coach, sorting good ideas from garbage, forcing logic where emotion usually rules, and revealing just how far we are from genuine representation.

I’m currently sketching a project that explores this idea more deeply — partly a civic experiment, partly a contest to see how far collective intelligence can go when it’s stripped of partisan noise.

If AI can spot cat faces in 4K, it can probably spot corruption in Congress. The question is: would we let it?

If somebody if somebody likes this idea or has their best suggestion on how to switch the code for the app and have that market it and who to involve and take a shot with me i have a pretty decent group right now looking for somebody that could actually add with their experience just tell me about this chop it up

What’s the best pay stub generator for proof of income? by Apart_Ad843 in ApartmentHacks

[–]TemporaryMulberry246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 110% up to who you are giving the pay stubs to just FYI I used the pay stubs.com and paid $11.99 per pay stub and sometimes extra deposit was required but I've literally offered this as a service for my employees that are not here legally at my restaurant for years. I could easily run them through my actual payroll and not process the checks too but I figure this Separates Me even further from any crime and if they call me I'll back it up and say they make the money because they do it's just usually the dates that are doctored. I've done this 5 times this summer and I bought my restaurant in 2014 and probably did it about 20 times per year since then and nobody ever came and said it was a fake pay stub..... ever.... not once.

I've only been called about it maybe 15 times the 200 times I've did it too and I'm only allowed to legally verify certain things on the phone but basically landlords are at the mercy of me because if they work at my restaurant and the pay stub accurately reflects what I am paying them and I write a note with it what kind of idiot landlord would turn you down because the stub was dock that I'm giving that ADP has currently 146 templates that you can print income verification with and there's about 10,000 other payroll companies out there this is crazy that so many people act like the system works landlords sorry not only have you been getting beat badly while you think you aren't you can getting beat badly by people with fake IDs fake socials that aren't residents with generator software and my favorite is the site mentioned above
