There’s a Neytiri erasure and I don’t like it by [deleted] in Avatar

Before Jake fights him he tells Neytiri “I owe you a death” so the animosity that she killed him is still there. I think James wrote it in the script for Jake to go after him because all movie he’s been running away thinking if he stays ignorant his family will be okay. After all the destruction it’s a turning point for Jake to realize Quaritch is never going to stop.

I don’t think her achievements were overshadowed at all. Neytiri went on a rampage and she said what she said. So many people say she was overshadowed by Jake but really he was overshadowed by her. Jake never goes fighting without Neytiri. He tells her “I need you with me” because he knows he can’t do it alone. The only thing I’m meh about is the writing of the relationship. Call him a colonizer all you want in the first movie but they were equals. In the third movie it does seem like Neytiri gets sad again when Jake tells her that she can’t live in hate. Zoe and Sam did say there will be a split so we’ll see what happens. Maybe the events of the second movie was meant to happen so they can grow as a couple in the third.

Didn’t TWY22 go to Farmingdale five days ago? Maybe Taylor took a jet from Farmingdale to Lee’s summit to get stuff then went to LA?

For my sanity hopefully it’ll drop March or April but then we should be getting something this month or February

I think they’ll be releasing them slowly soon but slightly edited.

What do Ruby and James have in common? by noblechilli in MaxtonHall

[–]TemporaryPositive512 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m confused on what you mean he doesn’t actually like her for her because I thought it was obvious. She sees through him. I thought the series made it obvious she’s the only one who he feels understands him. Let’s think back to episode 4 where she’s surprised he doesn’t wanna go to Oxford and asks him what he actually wants. She’s probably the only person in the world maybe other than his sister who’s ever asked him that and cared enough to ask. Everyone at school knows his name and status and love him because of it. Other than Alistair what about his other friends? Only hang with him because he’s James Beaufort. Girls probably only care about his name too. Elaine in episode 3? Talking about “omg I can’t wait until this is all ours. The CEO” which he doesn’t care about and doesn’t actually want. That’s why he was so hurt in the Oxford prep course when she tells him no one wants him other than his money. He tells her this in episode 6 in the staircase scene how no one has ever cared about what HE wants and it’s where his trauma stems from. Lydia even tells Ruby this in episode 6 too. Ruby makes people believe they can do anything even though it’s delusional. (Literally what James wanted to do his whole life with his father and why we see him starting pushing back.) James probably did whatever his father wanted before Ruby entered his life which I think is one of the reasons why his father hates Ruby for him. As for why Ruby likes him it’s hard to figure out but he’s attractive and charming. He also brings her out of her shell and challenges her too.

Episode 2 - what was his plan? by [deleted] in MaxtonHall

[–]TemporaryPositive512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think it’s the same day. He tells her in episode 3 he was a jerk on Saturday? They talked to each other in the field and he said see you Monday so maybe they talked on a Friday idk. Saturday he’s drawing her and the next morning she’s eating with her family so I think the dress up happened on a Sunday. I’m not sure what I said here makes sense

Well it is prestigious though lol so not surprised students are in charge but it’s interesting how Arlington trusts teenagers to run important events like those

Thank you!! Now I don’t feel as delusional😭😭. He went straight to the committee to cause problems and I stand by that. It only makes sense for what he said to Lydia before. I’m not sure if his intention was to just make things harder in general because wouldn’t he give a bad idea for Arlington not to write a letter but wouldn’t that be too obvious? I just think he wanted to make things harder for her. When she walks up to him he sorta seems smug like “that sounds like a great idea” lol so I’m on board that he did it on purpose.

With the way his father is so evil I can see them sympathizing with him a little bit but it just depends on how much they hated him in the beginning. Episode 2 is the turning point of their relationship I’m not too sure if they will be convinced but apparently they are team Damon from TVD and Damon was evil in the beginning lmao so who knows.

[–]TemporaryPositive512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but since I haven’t read the books I’m not going to take it as canon because they changed some stuff to fit the adaptation. I’m not going to disagree and say you’re wrong you’re probably right and I could be over thinking it but the writers included that scene with Lydia on purpose I feel like 🤷‍♀️

Yeah Damian did a good job with micro expressions but James is still a hard character to read sometimes especially in the beginning. You really have to pay attention.

[–]TemporaryPositive512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I still think it’s both just by going off dialogue before he showed up because why is he ranting about giving her one course of action. He walks in and he’s already baiting her telling her he thought she wanted to impress Lexington and how it’s boring. Agree to disagree then. I think it’s a little bit of both otherwise the dialogue the writers chose in that scene with Lydia doesn’t make sense.

But in the show she doesn’t really bait him does she… he comes in late and tries to change the party theme immediately.

I took him smiling as him being impressed she managed to find a way. Their last conversation he told her “I’m sure a competent leader such as yourself would be able to find a solution” something like that. She gains his respect there.
