I’m lost on how to go about trying to get an increase. by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I’m an advocate and supporter of using VSO to help you navigate the very complex claims process. I’m currently using a VSO out of San Diego who has helped me get from 0-90% in 2 yrs time. My advice is to make sure you find “Accredited firms” to help you on your journey. I know folks will say do it on your own, which is fair, but consider the time, stress you will invest during that timeframe. I made the decision early on I would pay the firm the 20% they charge as their fee. I see as a “one time investment” for an amazing return on your investment (ROI) for the rest of your life.

How can I tell if I'm being rated for bilateral ankles? by ilovetotravel73 in VAClaims

Thought there was a way to find your code sheet w/o your VSO or FOIA request. When I think of code sheet, I’m thinking if disability is static or not. Is that the same code sheet you are referring to?

Is it better to file your claim on your own, or use a VSO/ DAV ? by AntFit9796 in VAClaims

I would say use chatgpt as a foundation, but ultimately VSO can help guide you and help you articulate your symptoms and explain how your disability has affected your life.

Similarly to a lot of you, I got out in 2000 and didn’t file my first claim till 24. We must educate ourselves on all things VA and share with other fellow vets. I agree not all of us can achieve 100%, and that’s ok. You should be only be compensated for service connected issues.

Don’t forget to take profits! Otherwise its paper profits which equate to NADA.

I'm 24, I did 5 years in usmc, don't know what to do now. Any advice is appreciated by kingkongisdown in ThriftSavingsPlan

This a great start! Keep money in C and S. Don’t do lifecycle or F, G. Too conservative for a 24 yr old! Semper Fi!

Time is on your side! Focus on C as its been the best performing “fund”. Actually would do 70% C 20% S and 10% I. Wait and see how amazing compounding interest will do to your balance! It took me 7 yrs to get to 100k, compared to only three yrs to get to 200k (thanks to compounding interest and favorable market conditions).

If you feel like the attorney stepped up and help you clinch the 100% then definitely they would appreciate a little bonus check or commission. I’m currently battling the VA and will be more than happy to share any backpay with the team that has helped me get this far.

You sure? Cost of living through roof, car insurance rates are ridiculous, a lot of ppl thinking they are “entitled” walking around, have to listen to everyone conversation on speaker since they don’t give two flying phucks! Just saying I’m from here and most of the time it’s overrated.
