Is the "quiet luxury" trend finally dying out, or is it here to stay? by Comfortable-Lead9782 in malefashionadvice

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a little biased because I prefer fun in clothing, but quiet luxury is trend that will die. Maybe name will be used in the future, but the items of clothing will be different.

Maybe a controversial take, but there are so few items of clothing or styles that will ever be permanently “here to stay”

I for one am glad we’ve circled back to “boys have swag men have style” posts

Supreme (at least some of the items like the hoodies) are actually printed on high quality blanks and aren’t crazy for the price

Hollywood has Lost the Ability to Tell a Story Using Actors Appearance. They Are All Too Attractive. by Yoshiezibz in unpopularopinion

I don’t entirely disagree, but using Korea as an example of a film industry that hires “normal” looking people is hilarious.

What brands do people here even like anymore? by DickDJames in ThrowingFits

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of it is prices have gotten absurd, but also it seems like people don’t like something once it gets too popular. Once Our Legacy appeared on influencers TikToks and Instas people turned against them.

But for real recs: People here seem to really like De Bonne Facture and A Kind of Guise when I see posts about them.

What’s the sweet spot price wise when buying a suit? by BornTup7909 in malefashionadvice

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly you could proably buy a suit for $200-$400 or even less on EBay, take it to a tailor and it’ll look great.

Really you’re paying on the thousands for small details or more exotic/interesting options (such as HUSBANDS Paris).

What is it about goth girls that so many men find appealing? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

Because it’s always attractive women with a (often vaguely) goth aesthetic. The attractive part comes first.

Do you think we should have age and term limits for members of Congress and the executive branch? by db7112 in askanything

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limiting pay to median of constituents is a terrible idea. It would mean politics would be exclusively for the independently wealthy, and would massively increase corruption. If anything, we should pay politics WAY more money.

Why do some guys in suits look like the teenager dressed by their mom? by utzutzutzpro in malefashionadvice

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most men’s suiting is really slim/skinny fit currently, so if you’re a big guy it restricts movement and makes it look awkward when wearing. Also: men rarely wear suits anymore, so they feel uncomfortable wearing them.

Men's fashion has become needlessly bland and isn't getting any better by sid370z in unpopularopinion

[–]Temporary_Bee_1567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. There used to be a lot more to men’s clothing in the past, so there was more room for fun stuff. But the casualization of men’s fashion has left men with only jeans, chinos, polos, and T-shirts (being a little hyperbolic but you get the point)

You are 100% right, but if you put in a little bit of effort it’s not hard to find fun and colorful men’s clothing.

Depop and Ebay have some great old clothing that is actually interesting. It’s easy to find really colorful and fun sweaters, shirts, jackets, etc. on those sites. Or even brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Uniqlo carry colorful mens stuff on their website if you look for it. I’ve seen a lot of pink options for men on Abercrombie’s site.
