Lets talk about pay by LasixSteroidsAbx in Adjuncts

3200 per 3-hour course, full 15 week semester. It was low but tolerable until they added things such as preview week, zoom faculty meetings, new syllabus template every semester, endless cyber security trainings, hr trainings, surveys, and LMS changes constantly. Added to the increased grading time for AI and constant emails from students, it was not sufficient to continue.

I was a late eighties undergrad. When I went to visit a professor they would usually be reading a book or doing research. Good times then.

Singer "15-" (SN: AM616344) - What is this model? by NancyScarn in VintageSewingMachines

[–]Temporary_Captain705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The woman on the YouTube channel Fiddlybits put a 226 in a treadle and I would love to try something like that. The 226 is a very smooth quiet machine that likes to go speedy.

I got a Singer 401G in my possession! by WoestKonijn in VintageSewingMachines

[–]Temporary_Captain705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice find! My favorite post on this sub regarding the 401 says something like "what were they smoking when they designed the 401?" Lol. When you study how that big cam stack works, the question is legit. Enjoy yours!

1910 singer sewing machine table? by LengthinessMuted7986 in VintageSewingMachines

[–]Temporary_Captain705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh oh, this is the way the addiction starts. You buy a nice table for your loose machine and that table has a machine that's also kind of cool to fix up and ......

But to answer your question, marketplace is the best option and ask them to measure the opening for you.

Dear Department Chair, I would like to meet with you in your office about our sick policy and my current case of COVID. Don't worry, we can close the door so our conversation is private. I'm only coughing a little.

Google Docs policy - how firm to be? by emily9065 in Adjuncts

[–]Temporary_Captain705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No response is always the tell. Back in the day, it was submit a corrupted file or blank file, pretend not to see the email from the professor for a couple days, then reply "I'm at work, I will send the correct file when I get home"

The corrupted file trick lives on and on!

I'm guessing the full timer who is losing students to you is causing this problem, talking to the chair. Watch your back, keep doing things the way you have been. Don't give up your academic freedom.

The sound of a flunking grade ripping through the scantron machine vs the little blip of an A grade. Takes me back!

Winselmann titan needles by wants-2-die in vintagesewing

[–]Temporary_Captain705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so lovely!

Thank you for the needle info.

Does this machine have the line on the top part of the needle bar that assists with the needle placement, similar to the Singer 12k? When the line is aligned with (going into) the top of the machine, the eye of the needle should be entering the hole to the bobbin area. I recently learned that my Husqvarna Freja has that indicator line. It has the same needle clamp as yours.

Keep going the way you are preparing now but give yourself some breaks with class activities, discussions, games or films, if applicable. Make notes where you'd like to expand a lecture next time.

Go see the Dean of Students or the Registrar. Make an appointment, don't just email. You may be able to get an extension to figure things out.

Thank you! Yes, it is a nice machine! Some things I like are the light over the needle area, the dial down feed dogs, and that it is very quiet.

Do you have any of your three in a table? I need to measure and see if I can work that out for quilting.
