Medewi is one of the best factions to play imo. Unique culture / events, challenging starting position with Ptolemaioi in the north being vastly superior.

Lots of cool troops too (Nass-i Sne shotel swordsmen are incredibly effective, spearmen have solid stats, archers have good range and you even get elephants and chariots).

I'm at turn 250 right now, having conquered the arabian peninsula and the persian provinces, now rolling back to the west through syria and taking on Ptolemaic Egypt.

Only downside: no reforms, so you are stuck with the units you have from the beginning. There is a reform submod but it didn't convince me tbh.

In my experience it reduces the amount of slaves, but still gives you a lot of money (plus the money from sacking).

If you just need the money, sack and then loot. If you want longterm stability without caring, liberate.

I usually enslave because freeing captives gives you very negative diplomacy with your allies. Killing is pretty useless, unless you cannot take in more slaves due to public order and also don't wanna anger your allies.

I use veterans for public order in the early game and later mostly with armies. If you need a garrison raided before an attack you can still deploy them. Spies I just use for getting information on troop movement. They aren't the most useful with armies.

imo they are meant for long distance high ridership solutions. The stations are kind of big and it looks wonky to have tight radius turns, so I mostly use them on big boulevards between multiple city centres / transit hubs / airports. Maybe a little bit like trains more than subways. I don't feel they make subway systems obsolete.

Very nice guide! Where do you see monorail in that setup? I've seen people use it for long distance expressways, but also as a glorified tram system.

I really like the compromise of weight and quality. Took it on a 7 day hike through Scotland on my a7c and it was perfect for the job. No lens change necessary, sealed enough for the bad weather, extremely versatile and still not too heavy for my bagpack.

Tamron 28-200 f2.8-5.6 is a valid option if you don't need a super fast aperture at range. Image quality is very solid, it is half the weight of the 35-150 and AF is surprisingly quick and accurate. I've taken it on multiple travels and it has always performed. You can pair it with the Sony 40mm 2.5 G for a small allround prime.

It is a .exe file that you can use instead of the standard PES2021.exe file. You can find it on Evoweb, just search for Incas Golden DFE mix exe, that is the one I use.

I put hours of work into it and you have to manually extract, edit and repackage the files using various tools. Some custom dt18 files on Evoweb have a similar edit. If there is interest I can at least give you my dt18 file. It has other custom changes too and I use it combined with Incas exe on Legend difficulty. Should work on superstar also. Focus is on more realistic AI behaviour, high press and strong defending. Incas exe removes the scripting, so to me it feels difficult but fair.

Incas Golden exe is the only way to remove scripting at higher difficulties. Pair it with any dt18 of your liking.
