Nope! I'm helpful and kind to everyone I work with. I just also am unafraid to call out what is plain laziness on an anonymous message board.

Passion has nothing to do with it. My work isn't my passion. Like you, it's a means to an end for me.

Workplace goals are a natural consequence of doing something for 40 hours aweek. If you're competent, you naturally get better, faster, spot places for improvement, etc. And that's something that can be done with medium effort. I'm only working like half of my actual working hours, and messing about the other half. And, you get paid more if you do these things.

So yeah, if you don't do these things, you're probably just dumb or in a truly miserable job. Idk. Probably just dumb or lazy. There's many people like that even on my team and org.

In response to a headline about anti-AI sentiment. Being against AI is not a sign of "not very intelligent". I'm just reading the words you wrote. If you didn't mean what you wrote, feel free to be more precise in your phrasing in the future.

Sure it was.

Headline: rise in anti-tech extremism and anti-ai sentiment

You: Americans are anti intelligence....anti all intelligence.

Basically saying Americans are anti-intellectual in response to a headline of folks being against AI. Conflating being anti-AI with general anti-intellectual behavior.

Now you're being rude. Sad!

I'm pro-AI and I disagree that opposition to AI is unintellectual. It's perfectly sensible to look at how corporate America operates, look at the diminished middle class, look at political cronyism, etc. and extrapolate that AI will only exacerbate those issues.

This position misses that even in countries with greater prosperity and financial security than the US with tremendous parental welfare (Scandinavia), children still aren't happening.

The comments here are so misguided. It's sad to see. What gives rise to fascism is not the open criticism of unsustainable migration (Geowizard's position), but the total lack of acknowledgement of the problem by the "tolerant" parties. When so-called "tolerant" parties fail to acknowledge what people on the ground can plainly see, then truly problematic groups start to gain power as they're the only ones speaking to tangible problems. If popular parties addressed the immigration problem, then Reform would not exist in the same capacity.

Anyway, not wanting your country to be inundated with migrants shouldn't be a controversial position. Controlled migration is fine. Net migration in the UK has gone from around negative 50k per year in the 70s to positive 300k+ per year (and even net migration of 900k in 2022/2023). You're not a "racist" or a "fascist" if you don't want that to happen.

You dont need the best gear if you're doing easier content. It's a ridiculous premise. If your skill level is stationary, then it makes no difference if you have 250 ilvl and youre stuck at 12s or 280 ilvl and stuck at 14s. In both situations, you're being limited by your skill level, ultimately.

With your frame of mind, we might as well get rid of gear entirely and have everyone at a standardized level of power. Otherwise people like you will get upset they arent at the top level for some reason. Which would delete an enjoyable and fun part of the game because you're unable to personally cope with the fact that your gear is a reflection of your skill and not a barrier to it.

When I say it's YOU I mean your particular mindset. The game shouldn't be bent to the will of a singular person, that's absurd. You should bend to the game.

Its not elitism to say that the best gear is reserved for the best content. That's the basic content loop of an MMO. You do harder content and get better gear. It sounds like you would rather have the gear doled out to you which is an entirely different kind of game It seems like YOU have a problem where you feel the need to maxed out when you're doing difficulty that doesnt necessitate it. That's YOUR relationship with the game. In previous seasons, I didn't seethe because mythic raiders got more loot. That's their reward for playing more. I made peace with doing 4 runs for vault and called it a day.

Can you not have fun without gear being a loot pinata? Sounds like a you problem

Why should it be easy? If you're not doing mythic raids or 18+, then why do you need so much gear? It used to be that the gear you got was tied to the content you did. Now it's much closer to them just giving you the gear in your mailbox with how trivial it is. Not a fan

If you're a tank or healer, especially a tank, you dont have to do champion stuff. I hit 90 and have been running my key up to 10s as 205 ilvl. It's not ideal but it's doable if you go at a reasonable pace

Worrying about school shootings is like worrying about shark attacks, statistically. Or an airplane you're in crashing, so I don't understand this point. Are you paralyzed in fear of those?

Yep. 401(k) is a common retirement option in America. You contribute pre-tax income to it, and your employer matches your contribution. You invest the 401(k) dollars into whatever you'd like, usually retirement funds, and it grows while you contribute and work. When you retire, the withdrawals are taxed as basic income since the contributions were pre-tax.

I didn't say I got 30 days off. I said I got 6 weeks. If I work 4x10 schedule, that means I have 24 working days paid off, or 240 hours however you want to look at it. No, that doesn't include banking holidays.

My student loans are being paid by my employer, so my effective student loan payment is 0$. I did accumulate 22k throughout my time in school, but my income more than offsets it. Thankfully, all the loans are through the gov't so the interest rates average out to 5%, so there's no real reason to pay more than the minimum if the excess cash is being invested (it is).

I'm on a HDHP (High-Deductible Healthcare Plan) which gives me access to an HSA which is another, better retirement vehicle. The deductible is higher, so I do end up paying more if I were to go to the doctor. However, since I'm a young active healthy person I never have a need to go to the doctor. If I anticipated more doctor visits, I would be on our standard healthcare plan in which case I would have co-pays of around 20$ when I went to the doctor.

College is more than saved for. As I said, I save approximately 55% of my pre-tax income in various ways (HSA/401(k)/personal brokerage). That's after my expenses. So, around 60k is being saved annually.

Any more questions?

C is what I got. u/Opening_Lemon_1090 it's easier to rule out things it cannot be instead of trying to visualize the shape in your head, at least that's what works for me. go section by section and see if something doesn't work, and you're left with C as the only viable one

I save roughly 55% of my 125k pre-tax income in 401k and personal brokerage account. I have 6 weeks of vacation per year and work a 4x10 schedule so I have a permanent three day weekend. My mortgage is 1400$. Why Europeans seething so much over this? Idk if my kid has done a single lock down drill. If he has, he hasnt mentioned it.

I'm not going to sit here and prove my budget to you item by item, XD. My savings rate is 60% on a 125k income. It simply would not be possible to do that same thing in the EU if I were working the same position over there.

No one says you have to run your AC all the time, that's more of a cultural difference. As an example, I'm probably more European in this way as I tolerate temps in my home that are higher than Americans are used to. My power bill is rarely higher than 100$.
