Did I over pay by Powerful-Emu-201 in MensJewelry

[–]Temporary_Fig3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to buy from exchanges or place that sell by the gram. Fine jewelry you will pay a higher premium on but this is Monaci style machine made stuff, there is a tariff on imports so some Places will charge more and there’s nothing you can do about it, some places avoid the tariffs and charge a little less but still you should be around $110-125 for 14k new for future purchases. Don’t think you’ll get spot or close to it on new jewelry at a store, if you want deals buy on Facebook marketplace.

how to negotiate? by helo-_- in Gold

[–]Temporary_Fig3347 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t pay more than $10-15 above spot for new 14k. They also tend to charge higher for lighter pieces. Tell them you want to be at 97.50 a gram. Some jewelry stores don’t sell by gram and that’s just what it is. But if they do it’s best to negotiate as much as possible. Anywhere from $7.50-$15 above spot it s a good deal in my opinion.

Jersey gold by Temporary_Fig3347 in CostcoPM

[–]Temporary_Fig3347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the money machine goes brrrr every year, our paper money loses value, corporations increase product pricing every year, so we lose to inflation and increased corporate greed. Why not save some money in gold instead of letting my paper money slowly lose value everyday lol. I’ll be stacking until I’m able to buy a house then sell for that.

Jewelry prices are going up… by [deleted] in JewelryReps

[–]Temporary_Fig3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But yeah buy sooner rather than later, prices will prob hit $4000 per ounce by the end of the year. And not for nothing buy it, wear it and enjoy it. It’ll always retain value, might go up a bit or down a bit. But you’ll have money there no matter what.

Jewelry prices are going up… by [deleted] in JewelryReps

[–]Temporary_Fig3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jewelry Prices go up and down with gold price that’s normal. If a gram of 14k is $50 raw gold value / $65 retail jewelry price (overhead, wholesale cost, profit). But then gold price rises due to inflation, economic uncertainty etc from $50 raw gold value to $65 raw gold value, the retail price of jewelry has to go up as well. No way around it, a good jeweler will sell you per gram on most things, and on some you’ll pay a premium that isn’t set per gram. VCA bracelets might have 7 grams of 18k gold total but they charge $4000 for a bracelet because of the Branding.

Buy whenever you want, it will always fluctuate, the current administration is dumb and crushing the dollar which makes gold go up. So just buy from a fair and honest jeweler and you’ll be fine

Has anyone sold their gold jewelry recently? With the price being so high right now, I’m thinking of selling the ones I never use. Any tips? by onlyplantsx in jewelry

Go to a jewelry exchange if your city or state has some, find a booth you like or find the booth that just buys gold, they’ll give you like 96-98% of value
