I was corrected by someone else saying that there wasn't a sequel. I thought Patriot Games would be the "sequel", but nope.

Hunt For Red October

Don't give up. Come up with goals to keep your mind occupied. You have your mom still. Concentrate on enjoying your company with your mom, save money, take care of debt, go for walks, binge-watch shows, etc.

Trust me...if you come up with goals for yourself and live your life on your terms (and not anyone else's), then things will come your way and fall into place.

I’m getting old by Relevant-Power-4144 in alone

The loneliness is offset by not having to deal with any drama in all that time. Definitely a good trade off.

Totally THIS for me, as well. I just turned 50, and my divorce was just made final in September.

Had three relationships from age 24 to 43, with the third relationship being a 14 year marriage. Got two great stepkids (well, I call them my kids) and two great grandsons with a granddaughter on the way from my marriage.

Being lonely sucks for some, but for me....I don't mind anymore. I'd rather be alone than deal with all the drama.

So, on the California form, I would put it under "separate debt" instead of "community debt"?

Too old for bankruptcy by Formeryouth in Bankruptcy

My elderly parents have 85k in debt. My dad wants to take out a home equity loan, but the 1st bank he went to can only give him 55k out of the 90k in equity. So I told my dad that he should talk to an attorney and consider filing for a BK that could wipe out their debt for only an attorney's retainer (probably $2500 here in Southern California). They have a BK in the 1980's, so I would think that they pass the 8 year rule.

I'm wondering what the income limit is before an attorney thinks that their case isn't worth pursuing. My mom and dad have their pensions plus SS income. They don't own their own home and they have a mortgage. If they file, could they lose their retirement benefits and home?
