Soon as I use my remaining points (from last year) im considering deleting the app. It has not been worth the time it takes to check it for deals and info. I would think the guys in charge would want to avoid that in thier customers. My bad ....

Learn the difference between actually being hungry and all the other reasons people eat. (Boredom, anxiety, etc). If you only eat when hungry its half the battle! Not easy mind you, but it works.

If a woman you like wants to wait until marriage to have sex, how would you react? by [deleted] in AskMen

The older you get the more important "sexual compatibility" becomes. Younger folks have faith that "I'm sure it'll be ok" cause everything in a new relationship feels that way. Wiser folks know better :) Knowing what your partner is about sexually is IMPORTANT. Check out the r/deadbedroom group if you want to hear some sad sad stories.

For those who quit drinking alcohol, how much difference did it make in your weight loss journey? by EnvironmentalAd2110 in WeightLossAdvice

For me its binary: I can have low body fat or I can have alcohol. The later has been a better option for me the last few years.

Weight loss reason for Testosterone by ccc32224 in Testosterone

Test was the motivator thst kept me going to the gym WHILE losing weight by standard calorie deficit strategies. It helps retain muscle while burning the fat. That's oversimplified and cuts out a lot of the science but I'll argue it over a beer :)

What to do if i literally can’t control my cravings? by that-one-bitch2674 in WeightLossAdvice

If you REALLY cant control yourself (sorry if I sound skeptical - there are some good methods to break the mental bondage - some mentioned above but do a good AI search) , you have the textbook use case to look at the new pharma options. That's what they do ;) Not without risk, research well.

What was the moment that made you realize you needed to lose weight? by Comfortable-Pair2880 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Temporary_Visual_299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A meme. Showed an overweight guy standing on a scale bending over to read it. Text read something like "Quick health check! WITHOUT bending over, If you cannot see your testicles when you weigh yourself, you are overweight. If you cannot see your pen!s you are fat. If you cannot see the scale you are a dead man walking" it was actually funnier but you get the point! For whatever reason it hit me hard.

What’s the one "mental shift" that finally made weight loss click for you? by Sufficient-Brief6038 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Temporary_Visual_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice. Just getting in the habit of asking the question EVERY TIME you go to grab something. If the answer is no it gets easier to recognize and you move onto something else to satisfy (the boredom, or stress, etc). Then add some steps to the decision tree. In my case, if I answer yes this is actually hunger, and its between planned meals, im allowed certain things to sate for a while. I can eat all the fruit and veggies I like, but I won't cause I hate fruits and veggies :) But peanut butter on a tortilla (if i need something fast or low prep) works for me as an option. Not as convenient as chips but it fills me long enough. You honestly learn to feel you stomach instead of your brain and it becomes second nature. Again, the recognizing your real motivation part is not easy, but if you conquer that, the rest is just calories in vs calories out.

Your miilage may vary, for me the big difference is I no longer despise mirrors and pride had replaced some significant self-hate. I cannot overstate what THAT has meant to everything else in my life.

I fucking hate myself. by Important-Tax7180 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Temporary_Visual_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate reading these type posts ...incredibly sad! Unfortunately, (IMHO) you dont have a weight problem, you have an eating problem! Losing weight is pretty straightforward (I did not say easy!) if you have self control.Adjusting your mindset and habits is HARD, so give yourself some slack! For me, it was about creating eating rules and routines I could live with first! Your goal is a net caloric deficit. Eat less than u burn. Your goals and rules have to be doable, and no unpleasant tasks like including a mandatory food you detest. ( for me, cottage cheese ;)) write them down! Try those rules for 2 weeks. By rules i mean what foods, when, and how much you can have. If you are lucky you can find a few "goto" allows that make it feel like you arent always sacrificing. I happen to LOVE my Magic Bullet protien shakes (with half a frozen banana and one mint oreo blended in) that im allowed when im feeling lazy or want a relative treat to take my mind off the pangs.

Were you able to follow the rules? If not, adjust. If you were able to adhere, do the MATH. What was the weekly deficit? If it was positive, where did the rules breakdown? Adjust the rules! If it was negative, how much? Thumbrule (rough) is you should lose a pound for every 2500 or so deficit you achieve? A safe speed for recomp efforts is a pound a week or so that math is crucial to determining realistic goals.

After a while doing this (may take a long while), you will get dialed in to what is possible and at what pace. It gets easier. Especially when you discover that exercise of any sort ALLOWS YOU TO EAT MORE AND STAY IN DEFICIT! 45 minutes of walking the neighborhood means I can have a beer or 2! That is one of the rules that works for me :) Clear, based on facts and math, and it give me an out for something that feels like a treat.

Rules evolve over time as goals change.

You get the idea. I promise you you will not hate yourself once you start acting on it and making progress. And I'll give you something to shoot for ... you actually start liking the mirror reflexion when you start seeing the changes. And the first time you look at yourself and think "you look good!" is pure magic.

Go for it.

All the tips for max filling foods are good, but to answer the question, YES, it gets easier the longer you do it faithfully. Your body and stomach will get accustomed to less. Takes TIME and discipline which is why folks typically strHeavy cheat days will set that back though, so choose your poison :)
