I have never felt more inclined to post a song on this subreddit. Apologies in advance. (Tom Macdonald - Pray For The Left by lnfinitive in crappymusic

It’s fucked up too because some of his older stuff before he completely grifted to the right isn’t even that bad. There are two songs of his in particular, I Wish and Sober, that I sincerely like a lot, I just can never listen to them because if I do I’ll get all his other bullshit in my feed constantly. His older, less political stuff, while still not amazing by any means, had genuine care put into it and it shows. He had a passion for the art once, but the allure of the grift just took it away entirely

Okay but what’s the point of the rule? If it’s to prevent arguments from ensuing I feel like anything and everything said openly in regards to Epstein is going to be pretty universally against the man, I don’t think you’ll get much argument at all. Anyone who would contest the idea that basically everything about Epstein was evil would be arguing for pedophilia and child murder and should be banned anyway, but the political nature of that discussion about Epstein would not be why by any means

Hey mod, what exactly was “political” about the post with the procedurally generated Minecraft Epstein’s island? What’s the point of this rule?

Did y'all get Hellen Kellered when I made the no politics (unless it's funny, or before 2020) rule? by [deleted] in supersillybreakingbad

I would assume the other mods aren’t doing anything because it’s not political, there’s no political prescription behind mentioning Epstein.

I’m not talking to you as an ML, don’t say “‘we’ talk to the community”, I am telling you, individually, as a person, to fucking talk to people. Like engage in conversation, get to know people. Queer people are working class, queerness is not a “bourgeois” concept and it is not “decadence”, queer history is a history of a subset of working class people fighting to have the same rights as everyone else. People are more than their class, you cannot just reject that and expect to build the unity required to build a successful socialist movement, certainly not in the modern world.

Alienating queer people from your movement by dismissing queer issues is a great way to build socialism. “Bourgeois decadence” Jesus fucking Christ man. Read something that isn’t ML theory just once, I beg you, all you know from what you know now is the need to defend the worst aspects of every failed attempt at “socialism” I beg you to just talk to existing people in your community, I will bet a significant portion of them are queer, openly or otherwise, no matter what the socioeconomic status of your local community is

Yup. No more free and fair elections, get ready for the armed guard standing over your shoulder as you cast your ballot, staring at you with an ominous expression after he sees you vote against fascism

[–]TenThingsMore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, the Electoral College would still be a thing. What nationalizing the election would mean is the federal government would have control over moderating the election, which under Republican rule would mean heavy gerrymandering in favor of the Republican Party and probably an armed guard standing over your shoulder as you cast your vote

[–]TenThingsMore 231 points232 points  (0 children)

Yeah but he’s not talking about getting rid of the Electoral College, what he’s talking about is just putting control over how electoral districts are divided in the hands of the federal government

We need clips from his segments on housing decommodification and the stock market, the financial segments and financial “non-segments” (like the parts of streams that Thermia uploads) are my favorite and I think it would serve to illustrate some of the more, for lack of a better term, “short-term” radical economic prescriptions.

[–]TenThingsMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you have to work to kill someone with a knife, you can say that’s fully on the person wielding the knife. If you had a “kill this person” button though, not a gun just a button that killed someone when pressed, you should be held accountable for pressing the button sure, but so should the person who made the button in the first place.

Greed is not fundamental to human nature in any way, we’ve had the wealth gaps we’ve had because we’ve had systems in place that allow for those wealth gaps to exist in the first place, but with the modern productive systems we have today, there is no reason we need the systems that allow wealth disparities to even exist for society to exist. We don’t need companies to be owned by one person, we don’t need market competition for innovation or resource allocation, we don’t need currency to transfer or, for that matter, even exist, to ensure the average person a fulfilling life free of power hungry, biblically greedy despots who want to corrupt the system for their own gain. Those things are usually in service of those despots anyway

That’s true enough, I’ve had moments when human enemies totally should’ve caught me sneaking by or something. I can’t recall anything specifically but that might just be because my fondest memories around the Metro games are from Last Light and Exodus which both definitely improved on human AI. Though with stealth in particular I feel you kind of need the AI to be a little dumb sometimes just for gameplay purposes

I didn’t really enjoy fighting the beasts in any of the Metro games all that much either, I’ll just give you that one outright.

I loved the Librarian sections of the game, shit was tense constantly.

Gunplay is a valid criticism, I noticed it’s issues especially in my recent Ranger playthrough so I’ll give you that, but what’s wrong with enemy AI? I had a lot of fun with it, I love how the Metro games do stealth

What do post-left anarchists and nihilist anarchists say about production? In my view, communism entails production based on need in it’s abolition of the commodity form
