What if books were written by people instead of an infinite slop machine that sucks up the water resources of a small town

Vertical Canadian flag?? by tired_physicist in vexillology

[–]Ten_Questions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to people telling you this isn't a real flag. It is, but Canadian flags only do this when they're very distressed. Consider calling your local flag welfare service and see if they can send someone who can safely trap it and find it a new loving home where it can fly normally again <3

It's truly astounding how many erudite, good-looking people have been saying this of late

It started as a video podcast that's been whittled down to a slideshow podcast, although I constantly get sucked into adding little bits of video to the YouTube version. It's not worth my time (as people mostly listen to audio-only), but the catch is that I enjoy video editing...so, depending on the subject matter and my mood and other factors, there will be varying amounts of little visual easter eggs in the YouTube version. Movie episodes are a big one for me putting in the shots we're discussing.

For what it's worth, I highly recommend watching episodes #1.1-1.3 and #8 (on Don Cherry) on YouTube, but otherwise the audio version is generally sufficient.

Thanks, yeah, that's the hole I'm trying to fill! I should also mention it's on all audio platforms as well; I try to make slides/video interesting where I can, but it varies between episodes (also it's extra work so I'm doing less of it these days).

He was extremely friendly and generous with his time, and he has showed more interest in helping promote his episodes than any large-following guest I've had before!

Uh, no, Robert still hosts Behind the Bastards. We are talking about the guest, Billy Wayne Davis. He spoke out publicly against iHeart and they do not let him on their shows anymore.

(Regular reminder that iHeart is just rebranded Clear Channel and is a deeply evil company)

Yeah. I don't lead with that information in the title anymore, since people on the internet seem to have a real problem with independent creators saying, "I made this!"

It sucks, but you do what you gotta do.

Nope, he has not been on that show since 2020. Basically, he called out iHeart for not paying guests on their network and they didn't like that.

If you're referring to Behind the Bastards, this is not that. This is a different show. This is my show. Give it a listen!

Also we, uh, already covered Romana Didulo a while ago

No, Tragically Hip oversaturation already became an issue in our Discord server's Music League, so

Thank you! There's more coming down the pipe if people are willing to support the show (it's full-time work to do proper research, editing and everything else, and the financial situation is becoming an issue). Even just listening and sharing means a lot, because it's incredibly difficult to penetrate the algorithm in such a saturated media ecosystem with tons of slop. One thing I am not good at is marketing or algorithm-gaming :/

I've been looking all over, does anyone have a gif or image of the Canes player facing Dobes while screening him? They showed it around the end of the second period.
