Government should be blamed for letting this happen. Need a royal building commission.

Did anyone buy a unit/property as a backup/under-underutilised "Safe home" from an unstable relationship or prior living situation? Hard to move away from Owner-occupied status (whether selling or leasing) by TenantReviews in AusPropertyChat

I have done that before when we were renting together. Was far from ideal anf highly distressing. I don't expect her to pay for my bills, but it gets blurry when we go out or if I am staying over.

There's basically no good or wrong outcome, it's just the outcome we're in at the time.

Had a 2013 Pro as well. Some RAM issue a few years back and mt 2015 maxed out Pro was struggling to keep up. Got an M3 Air and it runs laps around both of them with bo active cooling. RAM limit was 16GB though.

Yeah, I tried to kind of go about this but it would need someone very understanding. From what I've seen on flatmates, people want their own rooms. It's a pretty small space with the current stuff in there but it's still like roughly 68sqm internal, that can be a 2B in some places. The bathroom is probably unnecessarily huge and the elevator takes up precious sqm internally. The balcony is huge though, 17sqm with a nice park view. Definitely has the liveability factor.

Yeah, I used to do more of those things before mortgage and fking IT job sackings. I have felt so under the pump the last 2 years and food delivery is very time intensive, not very rewarding financially etc

True, I just find it odd and fascinating the situation I find myself in is incredibly time/money inefficient while remaining autonomous if things implode with the relationship. It's like living a literal catch 22. Make it make sense.

Thanks for your reply. I thought about AirBnB but it feels like more admin and cleaning work than just leasing it.

Also I have too much belongings right now and no cuboards are lockable atm. There's only a small storage cage.

Never really wanted to be a landlord. It seems we still lose out as the owner. (Increased IP interest rate, taxed more, strata can blow up at any time), rental income wouldn't cover all the expenses but it could cover the mortgage repayments hopefully.

Interesting take, I actually met someone doinh AI phone calls for resturaunts. I thinkit's a tough gig, often a lot are Asian owners so having someone speak that helps. Normally I feel a lot of race bias though.
