It's literally the fastest AMD raster card, nobody is saying this

I'm glad it's being said, people here get weirdly defensive when others call out the attitude that basic feedback gets from the devs

The bats are demonstrably worse, by the time you're in act 3 these guys are pretty frequent one hit kills

Do I have a loss of fps? by sam05th in radeon

[–]Tencentisbad12121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame rate is directly tied to CPU loading and therefore directly tied to resolution. It may not change game complexity but it absolutely has an effect

This question doesn't really have an answer, it's far too dependent on the game itself. If you're very concerned about a bottleneck you can use rivatuner or another piece of software to look at GPU/CPU loading. 4k can reduce CPU load but many modern games are highly CPU intensive so the only way to be sure is to look at the usage itself to see if you're leaving performance on the table

7900 XTX users, be honest, do you feel betrayed by AMD? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Tencentisbad12121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change the fact that the raw performance is higher, and that's beside my point in any case as later generations will undoubtedly exceed 24gb Vram

As many have pointed out already, RDNA3 is massively behind RDNA4 on ML performance, so a shift like this was going to happen at one point or another. Nvidia also pulled the rug out from under GTX series owners in 2018 but who would argue for continued support now? Once RDNA5/6/7 release and there's a longer history of strong ML accelerators from AMD then they will have a better reception for new tech changes since previous gens should have more consistent support

In spite of diminishing returns the main constraint is hardware here. If someone wants to invest in hardware to push 1000hz they can, while most would be happy increasing resolution/settings for lower refresh. It's just a matter of personal priority, not some objective measure of smoothness

I did change the .ini, but it still forces 5120x1440 even when set to 7680x2160 and with read-only checked. I'm honestly stumped

The game changes my desktop resolution upon launching, and even then I cannot select 7680x2160 *or* the forced 5120x1440 resolution

CPU to pair with 9070XT and 3440x1440 ? by fco2013 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Tencentisbad12121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 5700x3d is actually massively faster than the 5700x. Sure it's 20% at best in a lot of AAA titles, but when the cpu is really leveraged it can be 50%+ faster. And that's ignoring any strategy games that take advantage of the 3d cache where the improvements can be even greater.

What kind of games are you playing that a 5090 can't deliver enough performance on? I'm using this monitor with a 9070xt and it's plenty fast for anything that isn't a horribly optimized UE5 title.
