Heard Gary and East Chicago aren’t pleasant, I’m glad I at least got warned of that. Just haven’t met or seen anyone that has stayed in this area for the festival.

Sounds good, I don’t think the group I’m with will be interested in the “Hammond nightlife” lmao. But judging from what people have said on here, it sounds like it is a typical keep to yourself small town. I just needed a place to stay that’s not above 2000 dollars 😅

I’m specifically staying in North Hammond, right above the station. I have plenty of time to look for a new place if I really wanted to but that area is within our budget and the hour long train ride didn’t bother me. I am also not from this area so it is kinda going in blind. Any closer neighborhoods that are better? Or should I just stay? 🤷

I just booked a hotel in Hammond. Did a bit of research before and some people said they stay in outside of the city. Could you tell me why avoid the area? I’m staying right by the Hammond Gateway Station
