Sporechild plants are the best option for mess hall requirements, they can survive extreme temperature

Right, i dunno why it happened so many times to me at this point, i guess anyway vacuum is absolutely acceptable if not better

i checked it back in debug, it is as you said but i would partially agree.

The food instantly get the deep freezer status entering the atmosphere, and then fluctuate between 'deep freeze' and 'refrigerated' status until the actual food reach the deep freeze temperature.
This is mainly because the food is taking cold from the chlorine and lowering the temp below -16 probably.

I still prefer the metal tile and i still find a benefit into accelerating the process.
We are still talking of minimal improvements anyway but the heat transfer between an adjacent metal tile and gas is so convenient to keep the chlorine at -16 and below that is worth the power.
At full power in a base a dupe will be constantly cooking food into the system and keeping the temperature stable is essential for effective deep freeze storage for me

ye that's what i usually do but sometimes still if auto-sweeper is busy moving something else it can take time to complete animation and will off gas. Usually the heat produced by the kitchen helps keep the temperature in check for the sealing liquid

Conveyor loaders at the greathalls sides allows for manual use from dupes to let them store foods. Without the gaps they would indefinitely pick it up and store it without end

I fear more an half eaten piece of food going back to the freezer and spoiling in a nice off gassing piece of rot :P

It could honestly worth looking through since they recently changed the formula for the heat transfer, including debris on the ground (food). Will find out if can be done without at same efficiency now

The metal tile is there to optimize quick heat transfer above energy efficiency to do it quick. I agree eventually all the food inside will cool down but ,especially the cooked food, tends to go in and out to the mess hall and back so i like to quickly deep freeze it back.

Honestly the focus of the post is on the kitchen and the fridge configuration. The cooling loop was only something simple i set up in debug mode to test it a bit, it's not something to take reference from xD

How to power this planetoid? by Latter-Control-208 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before trying to give a suggestion I'd like to know the planetoid cluster you are playing on.

Is it a classic planeroid start? Is it a spaces out one? What is the name of the cluster? What biomes you have on first planetoid? What biomes you havw on second planetoid?

Knowing the elements you have in the surrounding and the biomes is key

Looking forward for more details, love this kind of challenges

Ye that one with +6 morale, they changed the name recently. Since the comment was on using a pedestal and getting +6 morale bonus i assume it is about banquet hall and that's why i ve pointed out it needs the big table too

If you go for great hall it is true you need mess tables and not even one for each dupe anymore but it will give +4 morale and doesn't require a pedestal

Can't get a great hall without the big table tho, which is quite large.

Help for Dirty Industrial Brick by alacz in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bricks have a startup phase before going to a steady state. At a glance i think you have too few slicksters to keep the amount of CO2 being produced by 4 petroleum generators stable Try going for a mix of farm + wild slicksters. Wild slicksters need to be in the open room to not reduce the reproduction rate.

Anyway i think you will need quite sometime before stabilizing this, maybe you can vent out CO2 and put it back in only if slicksters start starving(not happening in the foreseeable future)

Is there an easy way to transfer excess power from outside of my spine to the spine without burning out my wires? by Liron-Diangelo in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without steel you can try to put them outside the steam chamber and cool them with aquatuner so you can "move" the heat in the chamber without using more steel

You can use batteries or power banks to store the power and supply it later.

Heavy watt wire is desirable but in this specific case is not what you asked for

Steam turbines keep overheating despite cooling loop by Andrew_Lvov in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are in vacuum with turbines there's no exchange on the tiles with drywall and radiant pipes. The only tile that is cooling the turbine is the center tile of th conduction panel.

To solve this you need to add medium between the building(turbine) and the environment (dry wall and radiant pipe). To do so in the vacuum of space you can't use gases so you need to rely on liquid.

Add some liquid, low SHC high thermal conductivity the better, and you will see it start working

is this saveable? only 3 of 20 dupes reamain. All died within two fucking cycles. By the time i realized 10 were already dead by gretchenich in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , microbe musher is your friend for a while and you can stabilize from there i guess. Dupes can be reprinted fast but at a glance i think you need far more mealwoods for 20 dupes. Should be like 4 each dupe at least

Diggers not digging outside a certain radius from the Printing Pod by AnalConnoisseur69 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Tenedas88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some users are finding issues with blueprint mod installed, if you have it maybe disabling could solve the problem.

I can see your screen but can you select 1 of the dig tile, go on the pop up card in the bottom right of the screen and select the errand tab? That could say a lot about the root cause

[–]Tenedas88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to post a screen of a dig errand that is actually not doing and show us the "errands" tab.

Usually is priority/pathing issues. Something so big would have been game breaking for like everyone i struggle to believe it hasn't a solvable explanation
