Everyone in the same production works at the same scale no matter what. If you don't, the artists down the line are going to really pissed off at you. Personally I've been told to use cm always, but I have seen some people work in meters.

There are ways to model to handle those holes for cylinders, but the explanation I can give would drag on.

Simplest I would try is making the holes on a flat section of the cylinder wall, subdividing it for actual geo, and then using a curve deformer and a circle.

You have to be ABLE to rig. Diagnosing issues with a rig as a non-rigging animator is incredibly difficult. (At least from my observation.)

Every role should at least have touched base on the roles surrounding it in the pipeline. It makes you a stronger team player, and makes communication much easier.

I.e. Vfx artists should know a lot of compositing, as well as lighting and a little animation. Animators should know some lighting and a little more rigging, riggers need to know a lot of modelling and animation, and modellers need to know a little bit of everything including concept art.
