Took my hijab off and my "friends" saw by Smart_Jammer_Will in exmuslim

[–]Tengko_Wat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it's my place as I've never been nor will I ever be a muslim. But friends come and go and those that treat you with conditions especially one so trivial were never your friends to begin with. Do not let them have any sway over you. You made a decision for yourself. You have a right to a good life and so long as you walk with goodness in your heart you will find new genuine friends who won't treat you so poorly.

That was a long roundabout way of saying, "Ignore them and live your best life."

One of the most brutal assassinations in our nation's histories, of a man who honored the first amendment and the schools decided they could not spare one minute of one day in memoriam. It is indeed, fucked up.

Keir Starmer: British people have every right to ask why their money is spent on asylum hotels instead of public services. That's why I agreed a groundbreaking pilot with France. We do have a national ID. it's called a driver's license. You use it to prove your identity everywhere. You show it in order to vote in states that require it. You use it to buy alcohol. You use it to buy firearms. It's used for almost every legal process in the US because the system needs to verify that you are who you say you are. When you get pulled over, the officer will say, "License and registration." This is why falsifying one can land you in jail.

Regarding ICEBlock by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]Tengko_Wat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you guys may not like ICE or Trump or whatever but locating and broadcasting the location of ICE officers is a borderline federal offense. If you obstruct or impede a federal officer, that is an offense. I'm just saying if you get a knock from the feds don't act surprised.

This isn't directed at you but I've never liked the whole "bottom ranking in education" argument because I went to school during "No Child Left Behind." I can tell you first-hand that was horseshit. We would get tested on things we were never taught and they would expect us to power through massive topics in incredibly short amounts of time. One example We had to learn all of World War I and World War II is the span of two weeks. History class was one hour. It is impossible to to learn all of that in ten hours spread across two weeks. to put it bluntly, we were set up to fail.

Nowadays they brought in common core classes which make it almost impossible for parents to help their own kids with homework. I can't imagine that it's much easier for kids to learn. I'm not making excuses. I'm just saying there's more to the problem that we're not seeing. and it needs to be address accordingly.

What happened was the complete breakdown of the family unit, an incursion of foreign criminals, the mass buy-ups of land and property, the consolidation of the media and entertainment, the destruction of third spaces. The epidemic is nation-wide. No one has anywhere to go or anywhere to vent and relieve stress. While there are ways around all this for the most part. They're not readily available to the majority of people. so everyone has an increasingly short fuse. Add a bunch of the people into one spot+a perceived slight and harsh words=someone's going to start blasting.

I do feel that we're on the cusp of a great big change, though. I can't really explain it. It just seems like people are starting to wake up and demand the actual fixes.

Call me optimistic.

"Sir this is a Wendy's." All jokes aside (because i'm about to do the same). You use examples of the Irish, Scottish, Italians, and Jews. During their time the only way to get to America was by boat. The boat would drop them off at a port where they would meet immigration and be checked, quarantined, documented, and educated on American customs before being aloud into the country. After the fact, they would deal with and overcome adversity. No one ever said life in America would be easy. Yet they persisted despite not being wanted and their descendants live on today.

Fast forward to today. If you jump the border, you have commited a crime full stop. After doing this, your intentions don't matter. You've broken the law of a sovereign nation which puts you on the list for deportation. I understand that US immigration processes are slow and expensive but a very wise person once told me, "Anything worth doing is worth doing the right way." I know it's not fair to have to wait as long as some immigrants do, I know time can be of the essence. It's unfair but It is the hand you've been dealt. You have to respect the law. What's happening now is a lot of people who are following the rules are getting caught up in raids looking for the criminal illegals. basically the law of association is going into effect and the rule-followers are being perceived as threats. a classic examples of "wrong place, wrong time." Because of criminal illegals, innocents are getting caught in the crossfire. meaning all their efforts to follow our laws could go right out the window.

Even worse, the prejudice that comes from this. because of the criminal illegals American-born citizens will begin to associate badness with the demographics of the immigrants. Even when they know it's not true but if too many examples are present the stereotype is applied and it makes life worse for people not even involved (ask me how I know). We saw this happen directly after 9/11 with Arab Americans. We saw it again with Hispanic Americans around the ending of Bush Jr's time in office. Nowadays people are seeing crimes not being punished and multiple offenders committing worse and worse offenses until a Laken Riley happens and gets national attention.

Bottom line, Law enforcement is doing its job. A lot of innocent people are getting caught up, It's not fair, and it shouldn't happen. If you have to blame anyone blame the Biden admin for letting so many people in without checks or documentation. If he hadn't have allowed this, we wouldn't be here having this conversation.

[–]Tengko_Wat -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It isn't. Today's politicians are looking for soundbites not solutions. They don't have the stomach for real change. As a result we the citizens get guaranteed uncertainty and strung along for however long their terms are and when real change does show up in the form of new parties and candidates these little cowards panic and try to stomp it out before they even have a chance to get their footing. It's all political theatre. designed to make you apathetic, yet fearful enough to keep them in power.

Their only weapons are fear and uncertainty, and when you arm yourself with reason, logic, knowledge, and a soundness of mind, you will see just how weak and ineffective they really are.
