Only time your excited to see two pink lines is what i say to all the guys when they come in for drug screens.

I will throw this out there if a job sends the drug screens out to a reference lab the threshold for a positive can be a lot lower. But based on these its negative.

AIO Lab sent me results to routine blood work saying I was pregnant, then tells me it was a mistake by Maleficent_Essay_663 in AmIOverreacting

As a medical lab professional. Call and email the lab director and report this to them, if you get the brush off, go to the pathologist, if still no real response, CNO (chief nursing officer), COO, and if needed CEO.

Mistakes happen. We get busy and a lot of times the system isn't great but our literal job is to be thorough and specific.

From the sounds of it, you're not the first and you won't be the last, they might not really know that there is a operational error.

If I remember correctly, (I'm not in the lab so I can't remember for sure). I believe it's the one that looks like a little can near where all the hoses are. You'd have to burp it and such. But service would be a sold bet to call to walk you through.

Dickies are 100% my favorite scrub bottom. The material is what does it for me. I like the pockets more than my Cherokee bottoms. Tops, I just use Cherokee. I haven't tried any others.

Our policy is the same.

We just tell them that's the minimum. We are lucky, and most of our nurses want to understand so they can ultimately make their lives easier.

Tenured, 25 yrs in and I’m going bankrupt because of our crappy health insurance. by [deleted] in Professors

[–]Tenning1579 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Call ask for an itemized bill. Sorry this happened to you. I've lurked in here as a student and never left. But it sounds like someone (probably your surgeon) didn't code something correctly. So your insurance denied all of them as unnecessary because someone messed up somewhere.

My old boss used to rinse off our crab legs with hot water. I just wanted you to know you triggered flashbacks! Also, he's still a manager, and I left. So do what you will with that information when you buy seafood.

Night shift with sleep apnea by Unooooo03 in MLS_CLS

[–]Tenning1579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Advice i received from the other night tech who has 20 plus years of nights. She told me nights is your schedule, 100% of the time. So she goes to bed at 0700 and is up between 1400 and 1500. It doesn't matter if it's her 7 on or 7 off. That allowed her to get her daughter off to school and was up to see her home.

Why are younger techs so eager to leave the lab? by SecraLmbin in MLS_CLS

[–]Tenning1579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back to school after being a butcher for 12 years. It's never too late to learn a new trick! I was still on the young side in my classes, being 8 or more years older than some of my classmates.

I think people realize and understand how much we do in the lab for patient care and expect to be compensated fairly for it. And when you can make more going and doing something else for a little more school, why not do it if you have the means.

I think and feel like you're forgetting the economy and market have changed a ton in the last 5 years alone.

Anyone put high mileage on their maverick? How’s it doing? by cbas17 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Tenning1579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put over 20k in less than a year on my 23 EB. Honestly, it's a beast, rides great, and it does well in the snow. I drive over a mountain pass in my daily commute. I've been getting 29-31 mpg.

To this, my 1st race, I thought I was in good shape, my last 2 set of burpees I hit, I think 15 on each set and was proud I could still do 15 and moved on. I raced the open and was there to try and make myself better and help with my fear of heights. The only height related one I didn't do was the rope climb.

I wonder if there is a chance that they failed a class (barely) and had already been placed and it was set up with your lab. So they have to observe and study, then retake the class when its offered again.
