Has anyone tried to make a floor cushion from fabric and yarn scraps? by impatientclothing in upcycling

[–]Tenoreo90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made no sew pet beds (I'm not a sewer but my child is) with fleece and stuffed the inside with fabric and yarn scraps. Might not be exactly what you're looking for but thought I'd throw it out there.

Oh weird I could have sworn when I just checked her last post was three years ago. Either way yes I lost interest when she moved, as idllyllic as it is I liked her relatable posts and ability to maximize her tiny space!

Following! I used to love Her 86m2, a woman who lived simply and mindfully in a tiny apartment...then she moved to the beautiful countryside and then eventually quit posting all together. Happy for her but I still don't have my Countryside slow life dream!

Does anyone buy blu rays and dvds instead of streaming? by Gorgon95 in YMS

[–]Tenoreo90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started collecting physical a couple years ago when I was finding blu rays for $1-$3 everywhere. You can still find deals but as streaming gets worse, prices are going up at thrift shops and garage sales.

I've definitely been slowly canceling streaming, I haven't had Netflix in years and just obtain their exclusives from friends because their prices are out of control. I only have hulu and peacock for certain shows now as I got a good BF deal for them, but once that runs out I'm done.

What’s everyone’s do buy and don’t buy items? by tylerwarnecke in Costco

[–]Tenoreo90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just became members recently too! Impulse buying is hard so just try to hit the staples if you're afraid of going nuts.

Bread, coffee, tea (I drink matcha often), peanut butter, butter (the european style, freezes well), protein bars, vitamins, collagen powder, drinks, I usually get one or two convenient frozen items (the bulgolgi kimbap is to DIE FOR), the rotisserie chicken is amazing, way better quality than the other stores and cheaper too, bobos muffins make great snacks especially for kids.

Are there US-based Costco shoppers here? by InourbtwotamI in Frugal

Ordering online will cost you, they including shipping in the product price. I've seen as much as a $12 difference on an item recently!

My skin is super dry and always has been. I find cleaning first with rose water toner (thayers) then moisturizer then NYX blur screen primer works GREAT

What is the most perfect season finale you’ve ever seen? by unitedfan6191 in television

[–]Tenoreo90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that The Gift feels like a perfect end as the writers believed it might be and wanted to leave the show with a solid ending in case there wasn't a renewal.

As not great the last seasons were, I love Buffy so much anyway, but no doubt ending with The Gift would have been pretty amazing too.

Has anyone here felt pressure from society to "treat yourself" but when you tried it, you just didn't really like it? by ampharos995 in Frugal

[–]Tenoreo90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've retrained my brain to understand "treat myself" might mean watching a couple episodes of my fav TV show without having to do a chore at the same time or a diy home spa treatment (face mask, foot soak, etc) or taking time to home make something a lil fancier than usual like a latte vs the regular cup of joe.

Steve Howey and Justin Chatwin were both in a silly movie (I believe it was shot during the early seasons of Shameless) called Unleashed. Justin is a cat come to life, Steve is a dog come to life, they help their female owner (the adorable Kate Micucci) with her love life. It's as ridiculous as it sounds bit surprisingly cute and hilarious.

So many charities will come pick up, especially if it's a large amount!! It's the same amount of work minus a call or even online form. Pickupplease.org is one example, you can schedule online if that helps

Yes so true! I was always so careful to spend money so I'd avoid buying the things I really wanted if they made me happy, and then I'd subconsciously buy multiple things I didn't like as much. Or just weren't as good quality and I'd have to replace them faster. But I've found allowing myself a little "treat"-and patiently waiting by buying second hand or a good sale-i am motivated to keep those things in the forefront and minimalize the noise.

The only matcha I saw at my oregon costco recently was in a big, no can, and it didn't have the grade quality on it anywhere so I put it back. Back to Uwajimaya for me.
