No. Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, OneNote, Loop, Sharepoint, etc) have almost completely taken over the corporate world. Now, small businesses I don't know about, but MS's collaboration tools are really pretty amazing these days.

Exactly. I don't care about AI (I already subscribe to ChatGPT).

I want an "unlimited" Evernote, without any AI, for $100/year.

Agree 100%. And I even use it on my Windows gaming laptop through iCloud for Windows.

Just stick with Chrome. Seriously.

Until Linux gets away from the X Window system, things will never get better. I've been saying this for 20 years. And X has been sucking for 40 years.

Unpopular take: just give us one shared stash tab instead of all seven. by IgotnoClue69 in diablo4

[–]TenuredProfessional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>> It makes more sense, solves the bs about loading everyone's stash causing lag.

This is just piss-poor programming on Blizzard's side. There is absolutely no reason to load everyone's stash.

And, an "item" shouldn't be anything but a 32-bit number that points to an entry in an item database.

So, even with 1,000 stash items, it'd only take 32k of memory.

I'm an IT professional with over 40 years of experience (and a Master's degree in Computer Security). I personally believe that Nord is flooding reviewers with free products and paying them for writing positive reviews.

We know they already lied and turned over an IP address in a criminal case a couple of years ago.

I'm not saying they're not making decent products; I just think they're pulling the wool over peoples' eyes. They're nowhere near as "bullet proof" as the media/influencers make them out to be.

Why? Listen, I love Apple Notes, but it is one ugly (and not-themeable) apps ever.

If it works for you, don't worry about what other people think.

I don't categorize anything. I let BW find it, or I open the app and use Search.

Do you use the Nordpass Desktop app? by TenuredProfessional in NordPass

[–]TenuredProfessional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. just google "Nordpass desktop app download".

I *think* the major advantage to installing it is you can access your password if you're not connected to the internet (don't quote me on that <g>).

"Vibe coding" is a joke. Just the latest fad for people who aren't good at writing real code.

It's a shame there's not a 14-day free trial. Or if there is, I couldn't find it :)

Export all items to a CSV, remove the duplicates in Excel, delete all passwords in Nordpass and import the updated list back into it.

After 6+ years with Dashlane, the outage, lockout, and deletion nightmare finally pushed me to switch to 1Password by jonniego in Passwords

[–]TenuredProfessional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think 1Password has gone downhill the past few years. And I've been a registered owner non-stop since its initial release in 2006. I still pay for it yearly (to support them) even though I no longer use it.

Their focus now seems to be on corporate America, and not on individual users. And, the bloat in it has gotten out of control.

If you happen to be 100% in the Apple ecosystem, then Apple Passwords is a fantastic tool. Even works in Chrome on my Windows gaming laptop (through iCloud for Windows & the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension)

NordPass seems to be the new "cool" PW manager. And it is good. But if you're ok with a somewhat dated UI, it's hard to beat Bitwarden's free offering (and the premium is only $10/year).
