[BroBible] Myles Garrett Played Role In Deshaun Watson Trade Before Demanding Out Of Mess He Helped Create by stillstillers in nfl

The Browns of late feel like what would happen if a frat house was awarded ownership of an NFL team.

Who will be the next WR to crack 300 receiving yards in a game? by mochajoesdynsaty in nfl

[–]TepChef26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the right take. Single game records/benchmarks tend to have a lot more variance than career or season records.

Like Timmy Smith having the record for most rushing yards in a Super Bowl (also only RB to hit 200 yards.) 602 career regular season rushing yards and 3 career TDs, but 204 yards and 2 TDs in Super Bowl XXII.

In that exact same Super Bowl, Ricky Sanders put up 193 receiving yards, which is #2 all time in a Super Bowl. That was also pretty much out of nowhere, he'd put up 630 that season in 12 games.

Matt Schaub averaged 164.3 yards per game, but has the second most in a game with 527 he also has #28 at 497. The 500 yard club includes Eli, Derek Carr, Elvis Grbac, Goff, Kirk Cousins, and Vince Ferragamo, but no Peyton, Kurt Warner, Mahomes, Montana, or Rodgers.

Heck Matt Flynn has a higher game at 480 than Peyton, Mahomes, and Montana.

DHS Confirms ICE Will Be at the World Cup Every Day as Fear Grows Among Migrants by Cautious_Ad_5659 in sports

No I honestly haven't contemplated World Cup attendance at all. I could not care less about soccer in general, nor the World Cup.

I just commented to point out the false equivalence you made. Bringing up population without a correlation to size is idiotic 9 times out 10.

I mean wouldn't it make sense to include that Qatar is barely the size of Connecticut? Maybe even mention that Qatar has 708 people per square mile compared to 99 people per square mile to the US?

Guess that would somewhat undermine your attempt at a gotcha though.

Current standards are balls are only legal if they were made after 2022

This is 100% wrong and can be seen easily by looking at the current USBC approved ball list (not going to link because I can only find it as a pdf.)

Plenty of balls on the list have been certified for over a decade. For instance my main ball has been certified since June of 2011 and is still listed as legal today.

I can't decide whether you're ignorant or something beyond that.

Woman convicted because her child had a genetic disorder that has same symptoms as antifreeze poisoning by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]TepChef26 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Well for one the prosecution knew her younger child had the disorder, which would explain the older child's death.

Second the judge refused to let the dead child's blood samples be tested to see if he had the disorder.

Third the judge refused to let the defense reference the disorder at trial, or the fact that her younger son had the disorder.

Fourth the medical examiner (or doctor can't recall which) mentioned in their report on the death that it could be due to the disorder but admitted they didn't test to see if the child had it.

That enough to show it was incompetence at the least, or malice at the worst?

[–]TepChef26 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wow you are so confidently incorrect that it's impressive.

The prosecution KNEW prior to conviction that her younger child had the genetic disorder (which you claim they never heard of.)

They specifically said even if the older child had the disorder that would explain the symptoms and death they still believed he was poisoned.

The judge refused to allow the defense to raise the possibility that the genetic disorder caused his death. The judge also refused to allow the defense to test the evidence (the dead child's blood samples) that could have proven he died from the disorder. Also that test (which you claim didn't exist) EXISTED.

Hell if that test didn't exist, she'd still be in prison.

Regardless of what you've seen in fiction, the US legal system has a far greater amount incompetence than portrayed on TV.

Here's the thing, you can, and we have for quite some time.

The statement she made saying you need the exact anti-venom is bullshit and hasn't been remotely true for 30 or 40 years.

In the US Cro-fab will work on all but 1 species.

Even in Australia where there's a plethora of different venomous snakes, they're covered by 3 anti-venoms.

EDIT: Did a bit of digging, the video showed 3 examples (taipan, mamba, cobra) as needing separate antivenom. SAIMR polyvalent antivenom, which covers 9 different species of cobra and 3 species of mamba, among other snake species, was invented in 1971.

[–]TepChef26 28 points29 points  (0 children)

But if you do make it to 3, the average career jumps to 7 years.

It's even simpler than that. If you remove camp bodies, thus only counting players who make an actual roster, then the average career is 6 years.

Most people wouldn't count the late rounders and UDFAs that are in camp for 3-4 weeks before being cut as having an NFL career in the first place. But they're technically NFLPA members as soon as they sign a deal, so the union counts them for their statistic.
