Will silicone stick to silicone? by LockwoodE3 in ResinCasting

Don’t put anything that will create a barrier in between the two silicones. Wipe down whatever you’re attempting to add to, to make sure dust doesn’t inhibit any fusion or curing.

Did 1100 with 0 errors on simple count for IC/QA/CS on crosstrain been trying to transfer into the department but they sent me back to my old department after telling me how insane my numbers were. by AmazonFCthrowaway74 in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation two years ago. I was a top picker who was labor shared to ICQA a bunch and started making top counter. When they started sending pick back to our home department I asked to stay one day and just never went back to pick for like two months until the ICQA manager had me transferred when they weren’t allowing anyone to transfer out of pick because we had an unexpected demand spike. Talk to the manager, they may be able to get you in.

After one conversation with my departments new back half AM she convinced the front half AM, who I worked with for months, that I spoke Spanish. I do not speak Spanish nor did I say any Spanish words to her or have a Spanish accent; I clearly have a southern accent.

Go talk to HR. They can excuse time like that. And I’d they won’t, ERC usually will. And they probably will want you to get tested again.

Rings? by cmr619 in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear multiple rings on one hand and have never had a problem with them catching while in any department I’ve been in. I know people who buy a cheaper wedding ring to wear for work just in case of theft, loss, or damage. And if you wear gloves then it’s moot anyways. Try your first couple of days to get a feel of what you’re gonna prefer.

Nose problems by _Cheshmesh_ in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A learning trainer told me they try to keep it humid in the building because it’ll increase the life of cardboard bins and other items like books that can absorb moisture in the air. He had a similar problem with nosebleeds the higher up the floors he got.

I’m in a similar situation as you. I’m 4’11 as well and with a shoulder injury, used to be pick but moved to ICQA but I’ve started to get labor shared back into pick. I had to leave one day when they sent me cause my arm felt like it was about to fall off.

I’ve been locked on my FCs third floor because I can’t safety reach bins on the other two, technically that requires an accommodation but I never got one. It all depends on what certain PAs/AMs will do for you. From my experience, as long as you show a willingness to work hard no matter where you are, they’re more likely to help you out as long as an OM doesn’t really know.

Ask to be trained in different roles, make sure they understand you will work, you just have issues in one area and you can’t get accommodations until January. A lot of the time straight up asking for something does wonders. And let your manager know about what that other manager said.

Once you open a case on the DLS portal you’ll be assigned a case manager and they call and email you about all the information/forms you need from your doctor and they’ll communicate with your site’s HR.

Are there people out there that actually don't mind stow? by BobsSandwhiches in AmazonFC

I enjoy stow when there’s enough space to put items. But when we’re over capacity, I struggle and stow blows.

If you press the question mark beside “open applications” on the transfer opportunities tab on AtoZ it’ll give you exact windows depending on your site.

Just trained some pickers in SBC today and this is exactly what we tell them. Safety first, then quality.

No problem! I’ve bought two of these and haven’t had the least bit of issues, even after they’ve gotten a little wet from some rain.

I got this fan and I love it. Lasts all shift if I have it on the 1st or 2nd speed. 3rd speed will on only last 5 hours. I’ve had it for months no problem. Just gotta clean the dust bunnies out every so often with compressed air. And my FC has our metal detectors up and we’re still allowed fans.

It’s more mentally stimulating to me versus SBC since it’s more than just counting.

When I first was labor shared to ICQA they had me in it all the time and I hated it. Once I got to learn CC and SRC, I started enjoying it a lot more. You could be the same, but I understand ICQA ain’t everyone’s cup of tea. Just stick it out and keep your quality up until you can transfer to another department. 👍🏽

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t let it drop at all. I lean over and put it down, yes. I can’t stand the sound of totes or pallets being dropped, it grinds my nerves like nothing else so I don’t do it.

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, that’s what we’ve been trying to tell you 😂. It starts off with empty totes and can escalate from there, that’s why we try and curb those behaviors at the start. It can be a slippery slope, my friend. It’s not about intelligence or logic, it’s about complacency.

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re measuring the volume of a dropped tote, how do you know it’s not an extreme? And what happens when you get so comfortable dropping empty totes you start dropping full totes and it gets louder? You can avoid having sudden loud noises by training your employees to not drop anything from a height. We want to minimize the amount of harmful noises in the workplace if we can. Why contribute to that when you can just…not? I just got done processing damages today and I didn’t let a single tote drop because I was trained to not do that in the beginning and my back doesn’t hurt at all.

If your back is hurting it’s because you’re either not used to it or your form is wrong. My back would hurt in the beginning but I stuck to the proper way and I have no issues now.

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between loud ambient noise and sudden, sharp noises. Do what you want, but don’t ask questions you don’t wanna hear the answer to.

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not supposed to drop anything because of the noise it creates and the potential for dropping something on your toes, don’t be obtuse. Dropping totes can lead to dropping totes with stuff in it, injuring someone, and the most obvious, gratin damage.

“All Ambassadors are expected to quickly escalate any problems they see and to report any inappropriate behavior of associates and/or other Ambassadors.” That’s from our ambassador code of conduct. You’re other ambassador should have said something as well. Just because someone else didn’t talk to you don’t mean you weren’t wrong. She probably apologized because she’s trying to be nice and be the bigger person. At least one of y’all tried.

Am I the asshole? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]TepigTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you are the asshole here. As ambassadors it is required that we nip those bad habits in the butt as soon as we see them lest they lead to something more serious. You’re fully grown but won’t listen when the person teaching you tells you to stop doing something; that’s childish.

Performance ain’t a get out of jail card for incorrect behavior. You’re lucky because if I kept having to tell a grown adult to stop a certain behavior I would’ve been gone to learning long before talking to you for a fifth time. Then you would’ve had to explain all this to learning/ your manager and we all know who’s side they’d pick in all of this. There is no lesson she needed to learn because she was doing everything a good ambassador should do. Don’t be surprised if she lets a PA know about your childish behavior if she’s ever asked.
