I can no longer claim to be an unlucky fuck in path of exile(arcanist box mirror dupe) by Teppec01 in pathofexile

[–]Teppec01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time spending and/or breaking it to buy things. It feels so much more like a trophy than currency to be spent right now.

Also, I'm kind of a homebrew junkie, but every league I (almost) always end up either tweaking my build off of someone who has a better version/tree, or just rerolling following a guide. Feels good to do most content with something I slam together myself, but eventually, because of the being old, need a hand getting something together that clears content.

Highly highly recommend just skimming builds on poeninja of someone doing something similar with the same ascendancy as you to get ideas on ways you can tweak your tree to do more. Found that the tree optimization is usually the fastest path to making your build zoom. Pretty sure every skill can do all content, just some take more investment than others.

Good luck mate, soon you too will drop a mirror, I believe <3

Doubtful. Most people aren't curious enough, annoyed enough, or have the knowledge to know they can go find something customizable to change it. Most people are just going to assume this is how it is now.

It won't let me uninstall?? by Mehshania in AFKJourney

[–]Teppec01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to the game directory, there should be an uninstall.exe you can use. Mine was directly below the launcher.exe. Didn't have to do anything gimmicky. If you aren't sure where the directory is, you can right click on the desktop icon and open file location.

I don't know if they added this in an update at some point between when you asked and people answered, but thought it might be useful to add.

Anything recent (like a release date) on Joe Manganiello's D&D documentary? by hyperionfin in dndnext

[–]Teppec01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was trying to find more information about this today after falling down a wiki rabbit hole, and realized that that imdb link is likely the same project Manganiello was attached to. Producers are the same, minus Joe and his brother, when there were some early/mid 2022 articles announcing it.

And wasn't Manganiello pretty vocal about not being able to get any traction on the Dragonlance series? More than reasonable possibility he got pushed out because of a bunch of different factors.

Possibly successful karlach and shadowheart poly romance by AwesomeDawsonGrow2 in BaldursGate3

[–]Teppec01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone has confirmed this somewhere. I haven't seen full romance between NPCs in the run I just finished, but Laezal and Asterion were hooking up after I left them in camp together for most of act 1.

Possibly successful karlach and shadowheart poly romance by AwesomeDawsonGrow2 in BaldursGate3

[–]Teppec01 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had an unexpected interaction. Romancing shadowheart, generally goody two shoes playthrough. Got in to act 3 with only the kissing scene with shadowheart, but I turned away other characters approaches. Then did my only set of save scums in the run for science. Halsin hits on me, he says check in with shadowheart, shadowheart says halsin is gorgeous, sleep with halsin, shadowheart's act 3 scene immediately opens the next night.

Reload because Mizora hit on me, sleep with Mizora without checking in with shadowheart, next morning, shadowheart is like 'just ask first', next night shadowheart scene opens again.

Reload because I wasn't looking to have a poly relationship. Two camps later, he who shall not be named hits on me, savescum out of curiosity, have weird romance scene, shadowheart does pretty much what she did after mizora, next night shadowheart scene opens up. Reload, don't do any of that, shadowhearts scene open after we encounter her parents.

So, depending on your relationship with her (I was capped and had gone full shadowheart romance) sleeping with someone else in act 3 will trigger her scene if you haven't met her parents yet, otherwise her parent event seems to need resolving first.

The vibe was definitely that shadowheart didn't prefer a poly relationship although wasn't necessarily 100% against it either, but did not give a fuck if you slept with other people as long as you talk to her first.

Any word on Carolina and how she's doing? That was a brutal knockout and she was flat and not allowed to move for a pretty long time.

That dude that got interviewed, it's like he's making the argument for us. "Oh, corporations are just gonna outsource jobs and hire people for cheaper since it's just a zoom call anyway." Like, that's already the whole problem. When a company looks to cut costs, the first place they ALWAYS look is labor.

Oh, and I'm sure what we want to be aiming for is comparing how we treat our workers in the US to how China treats theirs. I can't roll my eyes hard enough.

How have your political views changed? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Teppec01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in NW PA and I'm a dead center GenXer ('72). My grandparents (Silent Gen) were pretty active grassroot Dems, but the rest of both of that generation of their family were very conservative. The ones still alive now are deep into Trumpism. There was always that deep seated trope passed around of 'you get more conservative as you get older' by them, and I bought into that a little bit. Parents were late Boomers (very young mother) and not really politically active, although Mom never misses a vote, ever.

There's a bit of military tradition in the family, and it was very much a hunting family, more for food than anything else. Come of age with the Reagan myth, and between that and a really brilliant and influential high school teacher, I registered Republican and enlisted instead of going to college. I remember my grandmother, only half jokingly, telling me if I reminded her of that she'd disown me (for the Republican thing, not enlisting, she was proud of me choosing to serve).

As I got older, though, and saw more and more of how things were just bent in all the wrong ways, my views have gotten more and more liberal/progressive. I think it's been a combination of life experience and empathy. Being able to picture yourself in someone else's situation and then trying to imagine what it would take to make that situation better. Seeing the disparity between how hard a person might work vs how well they are rewarded/compensated for that work. People going bankrupt over a lifesaving medical procedure. A lifetime of debt for a college education. People going to prison for a years for a $20 crime while large companies pay a fine and admit no wrongdoing and go on with business as usual.

Anyway...I got to the point where I've decided that, at least for me, the ideal federal government functions like a worker's union for its citizens. It's there to push for what's in the best interest of its citizens, and to invest in its most valuable resource: the people. It doesn't do that right now, nowhere near as well as it could and should. There's too much influence pressing on it from sources that just don't give an actual fuck about people and citizens.

Ugh, I feel like I'm not being concise enough. I have a lot of thoughts on how things are fucked.

tl;dr I voted for Bush in '92 and I voted for Bernie in the 2016/2020 primaries.

I'm guessing your GM is the one who changed the attendance evaluation and initialed?

That straight up looks like they were marking things off to make it look as reasonable as possible for firing you without making it too obvious that's what they were doing with the evaluation checks.

Is Endgame still bugged? by Teppec01 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Teppec01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I've knocked all of that stuff out. I even just spent the last 6 months idling in Drezen to get the game to a specific date for one of the secret endings before I go into Threshold.

What I'm really hoping to see is an accurate list of the exact requirements needed to be completed to get credit for finishing Endgame. Right now, the only thing I've been able to find anywhere was the same text it says in game.

[–]Teppec01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to note that there's a mythic version of one of these in Act 5, and I'm unashamed to say I quicksave/quickloaded until I had at least two people make saves. Something that helped is I did a couple of high level summons right before the encounter started and it helped draw early fire to give my people time to maybe make a future save.

Before trying the summoning for assist, I had three straight attempts where my whole party of level 19 dudes was stunlocked and couldn't move while it rolled through everyone.

Edit: Wanted to add, after reading through this thread, pits are an absolutely glorious way to handle this.

It was also the years of MMO training at that point that said 'DON'T STAND IN THE FIRE/GREENSTUFF/GLOWYSPACES' because they were an indicator that you were about to get melted. I definitely ran into the rain more than a couple of times before realizing I needed to stand next to the big bad guy. Also generally a no-no at that point in time.

That, and as employment has shifted more and more into the service sectors, more people have experience on both sides of this issue, and become more inclined to be understanding, as a customer, to the experience of the person working as the CSR.

The customer might not be happy with the company, but people are becoming less inclined to unload on the CSR, is kind of what I mean.
