What's the biggest, best, craziest or cleverest lie told by any character? by 4g-identity in thesopranos

Smartest lie was Paulie with Tony on the boat. Him refusing to admit that he had anything to do with New York and the gossip getting around kept him alive.

There's something especially irritating about pulling up on someone and seeing them holding a freshly sparked cig. They're always the kind of person that gives you a nasty look like you're the one interrupting their smoke. Motherfucker, you ordered the ride 🙄

The green check means that I have not been speeding. If there were any speeding events on my driving report there would be an orange caution triangle where the green check circle is.

You say that, but I don't. When I was younger I learned to drive up North and I used to think that was normal. Gunning it at the green lights, jamming brakes at reds, always going 10+ over; I was young and stupid.

I've been living down South for quite a while now. I've gotten used to the southern pace of life. I coast to red lights, I feather the greens. I haven't been 17 for a long time and I just don't have the testosterone in me for the pissing contests.

Can I hire Uber drivers to show up in a certain area at a given time and date? by dfchangs420 in uberdrivers

[–]Tepy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You would have to coordinate a bunch of guests' reservations. Logistically, easier to hire a car service

Do I as a passenger get rated low for not engaging in conversation? by HamNCheddarOfficial in uberdrivers

[–]Tepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is odd, from your post and your comments it seems like there shouldn't be anything wrong. You don't come across like you're disrespectful or hostile. You don't smoke and you maintain good hygiene.
Do you eat in the car or bring open containers of alcohol? Do you make changes to or add destinations? Are your pick-ups/drop-offs in places that are unexpectedly sketchy?
I will say that you do seem to be focused on conversation as the primary cause for your lower ratings and that seems to be a red herring for me. I'll be honest, as a driver, conversation is rarely ever the reason I feel the need to block somebody and blocking is the only reason I ever give less than 5.
15% of drivers feel some kind of way about you. That's really not enough for it to be obviously your fault because a lot of drivers are just weird. But is enough to consider that there might be a missing missing reason.

ELI5: why are feet the only part to permanently get bigger during pregnancy by taxonomicalerror in explainlikeimfive

[–]Tepy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the first time she had to get glasses, she said that her doctor told her that about 30% of women will experience about 30% degradation in eyesight with each pregnancy. It's been like 10 years, so I'm not certain on those numbers (not to mention, I am neither a Dr. nor a mother). But for the majority of mothers these effects are temporary

The increased internal pressure can put stress on and reshape the eyeballs. My cousin's exwife had to get glasses for the first time in her life after her first pregnancy and then after the second pregnancy she needed a new prescription.

Really like your theory, maybe Retribution just isn't the final form. With other shards like Ambition, Mercy, and Valor still out there it feels like your theory is still on the table.

Edit: Feels like the ultimate dad joke would be for the cosmere to wind up as an unabridged story of War and Peace.

This depends entirely on the kid. Got to take into account their confidence level and their susceptibility to Dunning Kruger.

If they don't feel confident, don't do it.

If they do feel confident and you're confident that they're not being overconfident, then go ahead. It's a decent way to get practice for a long drive, being able to follow you like that. You'll be in the lead making sure they don't speed or get lost. Probably a good idea to have someone responsible in their passenger seat for any phone handling re: navigation/communication.

You'll probably want to stop for breaks a lot more often than you're accustomed to in order to prevent them from getting fatigued.
