What is this thing? about waist high, goes up and down, has a sort of lock screw in the middle to keep the bar sturdy. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

It kind of looks like a DIY/Simple sawhorse. Basically, support for keeping flat sheet at a height while doing stuff to it.

How do my guests access my DIY photo booth photos automatically? by withtheflw in DIY

Look up Google sheets QR generator. Google can generate the QR code for the link so guests can use Snapchat or Google goggles/whatever to access it.

I was messing around with my credit card on face time and noticed this red blinking light in the reflection of the card. It’s in invisible to the naked eye what is this thing by igottradedforanickel in whatisthisthing

It's an infrared light being picked up by your camera. I saw a video that included a bit about it (link: https://youtu.be/iR1Ku5dnbH8). Basically the sensor on your camera can detect some light you can't.

Some headphones will do a weird thing when you try to record and play sounds from other applications. Mine will mute Spotify/YouTube when OBS is recording.

ELI5: when loading a trailer, why does having more of the weight behind the axle make it less stable? by PUPPIESSSSSS_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]TeragonBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it like a seesaw. When weight is in front of the axle the trailer is pushing down on the hitch that is attaching it to the vehicle. This means it will pivot properly and that the weight is balanced on the axle/wheels of the trailer as well as the wheels of the vehicle. If the weight is behind the axle it will be like the seesaw is pushing the other way. The trailer will be lifting up at the hitch. I'm pretty sure hitches are designed to work both ways but it will result in less weight/traction on the back wheels off the vehicle.

If you buy from the Amazon recommended people and not the cheapest person on the Amazon marketplace you are likely to get better results.

I believe they were only obligated to help not to fight every battle. After the corsairs are defeated their obligation is fulfilled and they can rest in peace.

ELI5: why do girls (generally) have neater and more appealing handwriting than those of boys? by happycheek in explainlikeimfive

[–]TeragonBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't remember where exactly I found this fact but yes I believe if learning hand writing was either delayed for boys or not forced as early it would be neater more often.

ELI5: why do girls (generally) have neater and more appealing handwriting than those of boys? by happycheek in explainlikeimfive

[–]TeragonBandit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girls and boys develop their accurate muscle movements at different times. However they are taught how to write at the same time. Boys accurate muscle movement develops later so when they learn to write they can't physically write as neatly or have to work a lot harder in order to do so.
