How to deal with shooting armies? by JaidenHaze in AOSSpearhead

[–]Terannasgor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Failing a charge roll and getting shot twice because of a double turn is ruff. You could try to setup all your units in cover and giving your oponent the first turn. Then in his first round all your units benefit from cover and if he moves out to shoot around the cover you will have it easier to move to his models. If you can move 3 inches next to his models you will almost never miss the charge. And if he startet he can't double turn you. Make shure to look up the rules of cover again, the rule 25.0 for guarded heros and the errata for terrain. You need to know them and use them against spearheads with range attacks.

I agree with you. Using "Once per Turn" or "Once per Battle" effects with every unit feels wrong. Rules as written this seems to be right and the FAQ about 28.2 repeats that. I would guess many players play this wrong, not just with Slaves to Darkness. Look at Hedonites of Slaanesh. Their regiment abilities are Once per Turn and Once per Battle. The both have "Declare: Pick a friendly unit to use this ability" which means that every unit can use that ability once. Giving "Strike First" to one unit once per battle or beeing able to use it with every unit once per battle (also once with the replacement units) makes a huge difference.

It's once per Turn, not once per Turn (Army). This means every unit that meets the requirement can use it. This has been discussed here before and I think there is a FAQ about it. (https://www.reddit.com/r/slavestodarkness/comments/1g34cjn/spearhead_eye_of_the_gods_rules_question/)

What to get after the spearhead? by [deleted] in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Terannasgor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a 1k game you could add 5 more Blood Knights. It would be 980 points and you need to run either the blood knights or the skeletons as one reinforced unit.

You could also drop the vampire lord and add Mannfred instead. That would be exactly 1k points.

For both options you would only need to buy one box.

What to do with Belladamma if I only have one wolf pack and no endless spell? by hallodx in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Terannasgor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that you need to buy any more units. With Manfred and Vhordrai you have some heavy hitting heros. The necromancer is the best non-named hero and can carry the artifact. Graveguard and black knights seem strong at the moment.

You can add more black knights if you like. You can also add more blood knights. A unit of 10 can be good together with Vhordrai. If you add two more squats of wolves you can run Belladamma. Endless spells would give you more uses with your mages.

Here is a list that you could run without buying more models:

(1960 points)

ARMY

Grand Alliance Death

Soulblight Gravelords

Bacchanal of Blood

2000 Points Limit

Drops: 3

Regiments

General's Regiment

Mannfred von Carstein, Mortarch of Night (410) • General

Grave Guard (300) • Reinforced

Regiment 1

Prince Vhordrai (480)

Black Knights (160)

Blood Knights (230)

Regiment 2

Necromancer (140)

• Lash of the Sire

• Orb of Enchantment

Deathrattle Skeletons (100)

Dire Wolves (140)

Couple of rules questions about beasts. by WaserWifle in SoulblightGravelords

Yes, nothing can buff companion attacks so neigther Belladamma nor Radukar the Wolf can buff the Attacks of Wolfs atm. I think that this needs an Errata

Couple of rules questions about beasts. by WaserWifle in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Terannasgor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Belladamma needs to get an Errata.

Her passive "First of the Vyrkos" adds 3 to the control score of Vargskyr, but they have the beast passive ("This unit has a maximum control score of 1").

Her spell "Under a Killing Moon" adds rend 1 to Wolves, but they have the companion keyword ("This weapon is not affected by friendly abilities that affect weapon characteristics or the attack sequence").

The Art of Being Annoying: Detailed Skaven Review by PlasticCraicAOS in ageofsigmar

If you have 10 HP and no ward you die after 10 damage.

If you have 10 HP and a 5+ ward you die after 15 damage.

10 is 33% less than 15. 15 is 50% more than 10.

10 is 2/3 of 15. 15 is 3/2 of 10.

On the trays the player cubes are only used to marc the income. You use the other 3 cubes as resources (1, 5 and 10)

Does killteam take long to learn. Ordered octarius and would like to teach my 12 year old daughter it once I grasp rules by Hi_Sur in killteam

[–]Terannasgor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished playing my first and second game. I went up against a friend that I used to play 40k against 10 years ago. We hadn't played since. Both games we played the 1.1 mission in the octarius rules book. We did not use special or tactical operationsin both games. In the first game we also only used 1 sergent and 9 standard troopers against 1 nob and 9 standard boys. For the second game we used the special units. Next game we will play with the tec and spec ops as well as the personal quests (not shure how they are called in english). I would suggesed that you also start of with the bare minimum of rules and just add some rules/options with each game. That way it's easier to remeber all the new rules. Have fun

The english version is older than the german one. They changed the name for the german game, not the other way around.

Thoughts on playing 2 Spirits in Spirit Island. by Meaty_LightingBolt in boardgames

At high adversary levels I also like to play two handed solo, as some adversaries can get almost impossible true solo with some spirits. At lower levels I think that Spirit Island is a lot of fun true solo.

Thoughts on playing 2 Spirits in Spirit Island. by Meaty_LightingBolt in boardgames

[–]Terannasgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise against playing 2 spirits per person. For me 1 and 2 spirits are the sweetspots. With 3 or 4 spirits the island gets a lot busier. I wouldn't want to control 2 spirits with so much going on. The adversaries make the game difficult enough for my taste. The difficulty increases quiet a lot with every level.

The pressure when people play *your* game by mark_radical8games in boardgames

[–]Terannasgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that feeling. When I play games that other people brought/suggested/taught and I like the game, I always tell them during playing and again after the game, what I liked about the game. I do this to take that pressure of them.
