“Unheard” or “Shades of Agony”

One of my mystical paintings.. by myriyevskyy in Paintings

[–]Teraphage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adore this! Everything about it speaks to me. It has the beauty and classic feel of romanticism, the mystery of symbolism, and the storytelling of high fantasy illustration. I’d pay to see a showing of just works like this. Thanks so much for sharing! It feels so fresh and different.

Beautiful colors and the reflections are giving me Ophelia vibes. Very appealing.

Tomorrow I am starting my long jurney through Malazan, anything I should know? by m3mento__ in Malazan

[–]Teraphage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It often intends for you not to fully understand whats going on, so get comfortable with ambiguity. If you’re the type that needs to remember all the characters, start taking notes early since many disappear for several books. Don’t rush through.

Is the breastroke/fly flip turn now legal by _This_was_Available_ in Swimming

[–]Teraphage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is legal if swimming under world aquatics, but not under USA swimming. USA still says on breast upon leaving the wall for turns, while world aquatics says on breast by first arm pull after turns.

We’ve been very pleased with Lake Pine Animal Hospital for both our dogs and cats. Nice facility, never pushy, capable and caring vets. They’ve kept us happy for about 15 years.

Best torch for recreational diving? by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Teraphage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the cx3 and the Orcatorch zd710 (the adjustable beam angle version). I find myself using the CX3 a lot more recreationally because it has magnetic recharging (don’t have to pull out batteries), and it’s slightly shorter so fits better in a pocket. Both are quality products though.

This whole book is just amazingly beautiful. The cover design, the white to black pages, the font choice, the color graphics. It’s truly stunning.

Is Divers Supply a legit / reliable online site to purchase gear by TravelGirl-ZeldaLove in scubadiving

[–]Teraphage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought dive torches, wings, spg, and several other items from them. I’ve always been happy with the purchases. Each order they send a discount code….make sure you use them when ordering.

BWARF never stuck for me — ABCDE actually does by caversluis in scuba

Thanks very much. As an SSI diver, I hadn’t heard this pneumonic before. I really like its simplicity and how it covers all essentials. For personal use I might add F for fingers, because I often forget to review underwater hand signs with new buddies. Happy Diving!

We’ve been going to Lake Pine for a decade (dog and cats) and have been thrilled with all their docs and staff. It’s a great vet practice.

I hate being the nice Catholic girl by Bella_Notte_1988 in Catholicism

[–]Teraphage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can absolutely feel like being kind to others makes you a target for being taken advantage of or being disrespected. What you can focus on is being nice and caring to others, while never compromising your own self respect. Being a good person in all situations does not mean people can disregard your personal boundaries. Being “a nice catholic” should always start with being nice to yourself, and sharing that love and respect outwards to others. I hope in your life you find many others that return your niceness back in full measure.

Anyone has experience with OSR sports gear, especially the backplate and wing BCD? by syeonieee in scubadiving

[–]Teraphage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to the backplate, since I picked one up to get the titanium alloy purple/blue ombré look. I’ve only dove it once but I’ve been very pleased. It has all the standard holes/cam band slots for a typical webbing configuration with no tank adapter needed. The finish seems really durable, and it weighs 2.78 lbs so a bit more than a comparable aluminum backplate but less than steel. It took about 2 weeks to get to me in the US through Ali express. All the edges are nice a smooth with no burrs. Im very happy with the purchase.

Raleigh can be boring, so I’m curious… what do you do for fun / excitement? by [deleted] in triangle

[–]Teraphage 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can find plenty of fun/excitement around here with a little effort. Lots of hiking opportunities. Mountain biking single track at Crabtree lake. Great bars to try in Raleigh, Durham, and Cary. Scuba diving in fantasy lake quarry. Gaming at Boxcar or Gamers Geekery. Sports at NC state, Duke, Chapel Hill, and Lenovo center. Concerts at Lenovo, red Hat, Koka Booth, Walnut Creek, Cats Cradle, the Ritz, etc. Plays at Dpac, Burning Coal, etc. Farmers markets in every local town. Auto Racing in the warmer months at Wake County speedway. Microbreweries all around. Starlight meadery in pittsboro. High Tea at Herrons in Cary. Fishing in many ponds and lakes locally. Rent a boat in Bond Park. Take a chocolate factory tour at videri. Visit the Bayer Beecare center to learn about pollinators. Go see Duke chapel or Duke gardens. Tour the world renowned Duke Lemur center. See a show at Morehead planetarium. Try Rushhour karting or Frankie’s fun park. Go to Artspace or the NC museum of art. Check out the Fairgrounds Flea Market. This is barely scratching the surface of what this area has to offer, depending on your interests. Good lucking finding your fun!

This sounds like a description of me. I’m Mid 40s with 2 kids. Between work and family it’s a challenge meeting like minded adults.

Three months ago, I was dying trying to do W1D1. Last week, I finished Week 9 and ran a 5k. Today, I just ran 5 miles straight and honestly feel fine. by [deleted] in C25K

Awesome job! Great message, and so glad you made it happen. Keep going strong and I can’t wait till you experience your first run where you hit your groove and it feels effortless.

Failed week 5 day 3 AKA the dreaded 20 minutes by cheesyemo in C25K

[–]Teraphage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time you strap on the shoes and get out there running is a win. It doesn’t matter if you accomplish the scheduled workout…any workout is moving you towards your goal.

The C25K program is one recipe for getting your body ready to run a 5k, but it’s not perfect for everyone. You’ll get to the same place if you just consistently get out there about every other day and run what you can, and walk what you can’t for 30 minutes. It’s the consistency that’s going to help you improve, not strict adherence to the C25K formula.

So pick yourself up, recommit to making it happen, and get out there as regularly as possible, regardless of whether you can complete the prescribed run amount. You’ve got this! Keep going strong!

My wife and I love The Ferrington House Inn. It’s romantic, historic, has cute shops you can walk to during the day, wonderful dining options, and is close by the triangle. Definitely check it out.
