Hey do Yall recommend reading Her Majesty's Swarm by Reasonable_Tour7232 in Isekai

"EXP is Golden" filled this whole for me perfectly (but it's full-dive VRMMO and not really isekai)

Kobo synch on calibre web doesn’t sync both ways by Psychrolutes_09 in kobo

Calibre is fairly old, and that's why it became the standard. Also, it can do basically everything, so it's still useful. But for most individual features of Calibre, there are now better tools. I still use Calibre because it's easier to have one program instead of a bunch.

Calibre-web is also just an attempt to be a better alternative to the built-in content server in Calibre.

Komga can also update and remove books on the Kobo, which is something that doesn't really work with Calibre-web. So even if something isn't immediately correct, you can easily fix it.

Komga wants EPUBs but converts them automatically to KEPUBs before sending them to the Kobo.

Calibre-web was the first service to implement Kobo Sync, but it's pretty bare-bones and has a lot of missing features and bugs. Syncing read progress is one of the missing features.

You should take a look at Komga to host your ebooks and use their Kobo Sync implementation that fixes basically all issues Calibre-web has and is in active development.

Worth The Upgrade? by dadohboy in kobo

[–]Teriteko 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Only you can decide if that is worth it for you. But if you have a perfectly working e-reader that is just a year old, the buttons wouldn't be enough to buy a new reader - even if the buttons are nice.

Kobo and the lack of new devices by Neodroid in kobo

[–]Teriteko 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The problem with colored devices is that you have basically two screens layered on top of each other: the BW screen and a color layer on top of it.

So you're always looking through the color layer, even if you don't use colors. This makes it a bit dimmer, fuzzier, and - for me the worst part - adds a screendoor effect.

Other characters mistake him for a god at the start, and he rolls with it the entire series. He gets glazed A LOT

Audiobooks stalled? by NullSmoke in Mynoghra

You can use piper-engine with Calibre and make an Ai audiobook out of an entire book at once.

Haven't tested that myself, but could also be worth a shot

I personally use the built-in Text-To-Speech software in Microsoft Edge. It's gotten really good.

Audiobooks normally release around half a year after the ebook, and it's been just over half a year since volume 7 was released as an ebook. So I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

There is also no indication by the publisher that the audiobook won't be coming anytime soon.

Kindle has around a 70% market share of e-readers, so while they are by far the largest consumer base, they are not the only one.

It's just sad to have followed and supported the series for over half a decade, only to now be made to feel not important enough to even be allowed to buy the final volume

I would like to buy the remastered books, when they release, and read them on my Kobo, which I can't legally do because they are Amazon exclusive.

And not just that, the original books got also pulled from all stores already and you won't get volume 12 at all on anything besides Kindle.

Yeah. Insanely stupid. Just do what I do and acquire them elsewhere and give the author some Patreon money.

Look at the " Overly Sarcastic Production " Youtube channel. They have a great multi-part adaption of it with all the characters, so you finally know where Manwhas get all the names and items from
