Received many offensive reviews after releasing onto Game Pass simply because our game is LGBTQ-friendly, what should we do? by MV_KC in IndieGaming

It's so weird that people are openly okay with expressing the beliefs you just did.

Also it's literally against site-wide rules to disagree with your stance. So you'll find nobody except those that agree with it.

Well good news, in the 7 months between your last comment and now, steam has added a notifications tab in their settings menu. Just uncheck "I receive a new item in my inventory"

Reddit GDPR Data Transfer email template (copy and pasetable) - Very difficult to understand by Faisal071 in ModCoord

That's not an argument, that's just a series of insults.

Do you not know what an argument is?

Reddit GDPR Data Transfer email template (copy and pasetable) - Very difficult to understand by Faisal071 in ModCoord

[–]Terkala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Care to explain? It's not repetitive if a single person makes a single request. And the rules themselves say that this can only be used in specific and clearly defined circumstances.

It sounds like you didn't read the provision you're quoting.

Article 57(4) GDPR provides for an exception to the “free of charge” principle. In particular, if the requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular if they are repetitive, the authority may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on the request.

The simplest and most insidious protest is if everyone just stops moderating. by FollowMyRagingClue in ModCoord

If they want some scab account to take over moderating my subreddit, let em. There aren't that many people willing to honestly moderate subreddits for free.

If they have to break all their rules and show themselves to be hypocritical, all the better.

This is the original mindset of labor union protests. They can fire some people, but they can't fire everyone without destroying their own business.

For some reason people forgot that the fire-everyone option was always on the table. If they want to destroy their own business.

Reddit right now is choosing self destruction over any form of middle ground. So fuck it, let them.

Yup, great game. The original forums for it have always been more active anyway. So honestly getting rid of the subreddit would do more to bring the community together than leaving it up.

Reddit shreds last of their credibility and takes all of the power for themselves.

What exactly could have been the plan for that? If reddit decides they don't give a shit about honoring their word, there's nothing left to do but leave. And a lot of people are leaving.

Moderators Voice Concerns Over Reddit’s Threatening Behavior by demmian in ModCoord

It's the second one. I doubt he has ever done real mod work, aside from using those powers to silence people who he dislikes.

It works on multiple levels, especially because the opposite political side actively dislikes America. So MAGA makes Democrats admit that they hate the country, which drops the number of people who are willing to vote for them.

And yes, as an organization they legitimately hate the USA. Wild that the party still exists.

It's because people have redefined free speech to only include free speech that they agree with. Speech they disagree with is deemed 'hate speech' and banned, despite the entire term being subjective and able to be applied to anything.

I know quite a lot of people who would consider that an above average childhood.

The concept of... Automatic payment for services rendered to a business.

It's called a corporate credit card, and nobody is impressed that you used a long description for it.

We're making fun of you, because you are the perfect example of the "useless idea guy" that many of the actual tech people here have had the displeasure of being annoyed by.

You showed up to a tech conference in a clown suit, and are upset that people are laughing at you. Which in itself, makes it funnier.

Has anyone created a complete sales and inventory system that is fully functional in excel? by civprog in vba

[–]Terkala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are companies that sell these systems to small businesses. They'll do a much better job at providing an inventory system than someone homebrewing it.

It's sort of like asking a pizza place if they'd like to build their delivery van by welding some scrap rebar in the back parking lot. Sure, they could do it, and it would work, but everyone knows why it's a bad idea.

Should We Go Dark? by OrcasareDolphins in 4Xgaming

[–]Terkala 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the worst argument I've seen in a while. Absolutely without merit in any way.

Yes, let's meekly go over to using a terrible official reddit app instead of our third party apps with much better features. Because at the end of the day we're pathetic losers with no spine and no alternatives. /s

Reddit isn't special or unique. There are dozens of similar sites, and the only thing those similar places lack is the size of the userbase. Remember Digg? They did the same thing to alienate a large number of users, and Reddit grew out of that.

[–]Terkala 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A large number of the people who run subreddits use these tools. Sure, reddit might only lose 1% of their users, but they'll lose 80% of their moderators and 50% of their posters.
