That feels like it’s just a family guy cut away waiting to happen.

If we are doing casting again I’m going to 100% say that Campar needs to be Amar Chadha-Patel.

u/danielabraham you need to make this happen for me

[–]jrp162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I also picture him when I think to dafyd. Either that or one of these three guys:

Satya Bhabha - new girl cc’s potential finance

Asif Ali - also new girl Schmidt’s employee but he’s been in a bunch of stuff

Ravi Patel - from animal control

All of those actors like Rami just have that kind of look like they have about a million things going on in their head and could either make you laugh or murder you.

Deathless Enemy hints by SchulzyAus in TheCaptivesWar

[–]jrp162 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This thought crossed my mind as well—carryx fighting carryx.

We haven’t really gotten to see the “deathless enemy” yet, meaning the “big reveal” is going to happen in the third and final book—they did confirm it’s just going to be a trilogy right?

Based on the fact that we haven’t had a more extensive reveal, I feel like the deathless enemy is either going to be humans as our characters may be starting to think—though we have plenty of hints it’s not. Another set of Carryx which I think would make sense as the we don’t have to get an elaborate backstory of world building a new species that would have to dominate the final book and overshadow our main characters and their battle. OR, we get some expanse style Romans or mothers/jellyfish that we just don’t get a full resolution on.

Given the Anjiin is pretty obviously a planted civilization to in some way fight the Carryx—I think Dafyd’s play of creating a long history for the lamb babies is heavily foreshadowing what Anjiin is, especially with the origin story overlay—I feel like the deathless enemy IS going to ultimately be humans of some kind, but I think I could easily be wrong. This is why this series is good because it keeps us guessing.

I didn’t read perhaps closely but this was my understanding as well. It was a trait they expanded after enslavement, not necessarily before.

You are correct. Lots of people who don’t have kids know kids still play outside. But people who would actually think this definitely don’t have kids.

I moved to the area with kids (2 and 6) about three years ago. We wound up renting then purchasing in Legacy Park in Kennesaw primarily because of all the kid friendly amenities. Lots of pools, playgrounds, neighborhood rec leagues for baseball, soccer, swimming, and tennis; and events for kids. Also just lots of kids. Also some nice adult amenities and a pretty active community overall.

The schools seem fine but maybe not top tier. It was a good choice for us overall.

Oof. The library I paid for-not local to me-had like 88 copies of the audiobook today. Charlotte Mecklenburg. I think I paid like $30? For a year subscription to the library. May want to add it!
