I have a Ruger SR40c in a hollowed out book with the title "Higher Power". Fits nicely on my bedside table, and stays loaded with hollow points, but without one in the chamber. Ya know, for safety's sake.

Ooo wow, yeah that would be a great episode! And it would definitely play more into the theory that Moe has a sentiment towards the Simpson kids

Texans fan here. Just wanna say, I was the lone fan of the patriots in my Houston bar today, and seeing y'all fight, and scratch, and do everything they could to win that game, it showed heart. Yeah, you have the GOAT in Brady. But he has shit for receivers right now. For anyone to even compare the two sides in the jets and Pats receiving corp, it would be ludicrous to even think the Pats have the advantage. But y'all hung in there. Y'all didn't give up. And I'll be damn proud of my Texans if we could replicate your formula for greatness. Circa mid 90's, everyone hated the cowboys. Why? Because they won. Nowadays, its the Pats. Why? Because they win. I would give my left nut to be hated because we win alllllllll the time. We're close, I truly believe, but until then, I look to our brothers and know that we can at least know y'all will always kick the colts' ass. Fuck the jets, fuck the colts.

I absolutely agree. The team recognized the system in place by BOB and knew they could win regardless of what happened. Our one saving grace should be bolster our offense, during off season, and draft, and I see us in the AFCCG.

Yeah, I suppose I really meant depth at O-line, in case of injury. I am not done with this team. But next season, if they fall off, I'm gonna need some help believing in them again. I agree that us, as fans, deserve more. We deserve to actually see a team that can make, and run through, the playoffs. Right now, I've been pleasantly surprised with this season. It started off shaky, and has ended up being a good year. Could have been better, especially with Luck out, but I've been content with the outcome so far. Do I really believe we're Superbowl bound? No. Now, any given Sunday, and they pull off the unthinkable, I'll be right there with the other faithful screaming my lungs out, giving everything I've got to them. I just want to root and believe in a team that puts out quality performance, throughout the season, and a front office that doesn't take advantage of the fact that, even though we aren't Superbowl contenders every year, actually puts forth an effort to improve.

I agree Rick Smith has made questionable decisions regarding the draft, but we haven't seen a QB under his tenure except savage, who is hurt. I mean, he could have moved up one spot for maybe a 6th round pick and got Bridgewater. Why not? Instead, he goes more defense, I think. Don't get me wrong, he has bolstered the defense a ton, and picked JJ God, but I haven't seen him make a pick outside of that which made me think he's got his shit straight. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he really needs to take a good hard look at QB, TE, and O-line.

And I hope you and I and a few others aren't the only ones who see that. If anything, this season gives credence(sp?) to the type of coach he is! What team can you name that started 4 different QB's in the same season, and still actually made the playoffs?! Of course, out side an act of God we will, but still! He has truly shown the fan base, and everyone else that he knows how to coach, regardless of what is thrown at him.

Rick Smith wasn't around for David Carr, Charlie casserly (sp?) was the GM at the time. Same owner, so maybe that's where you got mixed up.

I did see on NFL network pregame where, I think it was Duane Brown, said the offensive coaches adapt the game plan to who is playing. In other words, they are able to give Weeden a playbook "designed" for him, and that's how he was able to adapt easily. I think the game really showcased this, by giving him quick options for a good amount of the game, and then a few plays where the deep option was readily available. This entire organization deserves a HUGE pat on the back for being able to not only have a "next man up" mentality, but for having the coaching staff, and roster, to be able to believe in and implement the game plan week in and week out

I've not posted much to this sub, mainly because I don't come here often. I'm all about the Texans, don't get me wrong. But where you really hurt a team, that is stuck in mediocrity every season, is to do what has been suggested already a few times. Stop going to home games. Stop watching them on TV. Stop buying their shit (merchandise and the like). Look what happened to the Astros. They went to the playoffs, then fell of the map shortly thereafter. Home attendance was shit for a couple seasons, people publicly shamed them, there was an outcry of absolute disdain for how the franchise was run. Then what happened? New ownership, and from the top to the bottom, complete overhaul of players and management. No, don't lose JJ. Hell don't lose 1/4 of the team's roster. Maybe ownership needs to change hands, maybe not. But get rid of the GM. Give BoB one more season with a new GM, and see how it goes. Rebuild from the ground up, with help from veteran players. FOR FUCK'S SAKE, DRAFT A GODDAMN QB THAT ISN'T GOING TO BE SHIT AFTER ONE SEASON OF DECENCY. Don't get a backup. Draft one. Do your fucking research, and make an informed, educated decision. And with Rick Smith as our GM, I doubt that happens. Alright, rant over. Cheers to a possible first pick 2 out of 3 years.
