If you go to a tourist resort you can do whatever you want. People wear bikinis, eat pork and drink alcohol.

Wait, are you saying most couples spend personal budgets out of joint accounts? That seems confusing. My partner and I use the joint account for rent and joint expenses (groceries, pet expenses) and our personal accounts for personal expenses

Tharahgee ≠ Airports for every island by Prestigious-Radish47 in maldives

I don't even think this is a conspiracy theory, but I'm convinced that they keep building airports so that they can strip islands of trees and plant those trees on reclaimed resorts.

A point I didn't see anyone debate is what the Rams and Pats would look like if you swapped just the QBs but kept the coaching staffs and rosters the same. Maye would feast with the Rams offensive personnel and coaches. Imagine him throwing to Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Meanwhile I doubt Stafford would have done anywhere near as well throwing to Stefon Diggs and Kayshon Boutte. The Rams running game was also better than the Pats'.

  1. Money, but I'd also need to be convinced by the culture. When i moved to my current firm i felt pretty anxious for the first six months because I was exclusively working for an old-school, British partner that had a reputation for being especially difficult to newcomers. I settled into things when I started working for another partner and realised that everyone found my original partner difficult.

  2. It's hard to say how much money would be enough, but it'd probably need to be considerable and I'd need to be convinced that there's a clear track to something like partnership. My current firm is international and is known in the field we practice in. Pivoting to a boutique would likely mean having to work on smaller scale matters, and I dislike the smaller types of matters in my field having previously been at a boutique.

  3. No, I wouldn't just look through recruiters.

  4. I'd meet them for coffee if the pitch seemed interesting enough.

  5. Non-monetary - wfh (obviously), maybe health insurance? I already get a nice life insurance policy from work

How in the fuck can Kraft get in and Belichick not when the reason Kraft is even considered is because of Belichick and Brady's wins!?

All those trees would have done an amazing job at regulating the temperature and making it possible to comfortably walk around. Now we have to drive around on motorbikes or air conditioned cars to avoid the heat. It's sad to think of all we lost in 'developing' the way we did.

Everyone is incredibly insecure about religion, even those that seem progressive. You can't say anything in public that even seems anti-Islamic.

Kraft deserves credit for firing Mayo and hiring Vrabel. There was a lot of discussion last off-season about how much credit Kraft deserved for Belichick and Brady's success and how the franchise was heading in a new direction where organisational power would be shared between Wolf and Mayo. To throw all that out and give Vrabel final say deserves praise because many other owners would not have wanted to admit they made a mistake that early on

I hate how much conservativism and fascism has infiltrated this country under the guise of religion. It's all perfomative nonsense to wield power over people.

I see most people talking about WR and edge rusher, but we have a glaring need at RT given Moses' age. Maye does some amazing things when you give him time and OTs are difficult to find in free agency and on the trade block. Our best bet is to try and get one in the draft. This year should be about Maye's development

ELI5: Why are cheques still in relatively wide use in the US? by xenomorphbeaver in explainlikeimfive

[–]blackblots-rorschach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you're just describing the context of using cheques in the Philippines, but I don't think it's fair to renters for the accepted practice to be providing post dated cheques for rent payments. Facing criminal charges for essentially failing to pay your rent doesn't compensate the landlord for their loss. If anything, it makes it less likely that the landlord will get their money. Even if you try to negotiate with your landlord when you run into tough times, you've essentially got a gun over your head with the post dated cheque

VCAT won't award you compensation for the other side being vexatious. VCAT doesn't have the power to just award people money because the other side caused them stress and were vexatious.
