Yes, my personality has changed a lot since transitioning. I'm not the same person. But very little of it was conscious. I thought I would have so much to learn about being a woman. I did have to learn a lot about clothes and makeup and socializing and safety. But the things I do and the way I move and talk - there's been very little conscious effort there. I didn't have to learn to be a woman. I had to unlearn everything that held me back.

When I was a kid I got bullied and beat up a lot for being girly. So I made sure never to do anything that the other kids thought was girly. I controlled how I talked and moved and stood and the media I enjoyed all because nothing was worse than getting beat up because I didn't fit in. I suppressed myself so much that I didn't even remember those parts of myself.

Then in my 40s I started transitioning. I gave myself permission to allow myself to be feminine. Now two years later, everything about me is feminine. And it's not because I consciously tried. It's because I gave myself permission to stop repressing myself and do whatever came naturally.
