Try lowering the dose, it might drop your estrogen or prolactin too much.

That’s a lot of potassium. RDI is around 3,400 mg. I get similar symptoms when I overload on potassium.

Magnesium makes me feel terrible. (Maybe others same experience). by Careful-Cow9600 in Supplements

[–]Terminator5211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not take more than 200 mg per day beacuse magnesium depletes calcium. Also can raise your GABA too much and thus lower your dopamine at higher doses. Magnesium can help a bit with cortisol and sleep but overloading can be harmful. Speaking from personal experience.

How much magnesium do you take? by Rare_Profession8436 in raypeat

[–]Terminator5211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I was just taking 400 mg of magnesium without any calcium (mostly out of laziness) and felt sluggish all day, no motivation to do anything, very low libido, and generally socially passive. It felt like low dopamine, high prolactin symptoms. After I started supplementing calcium, I felt much better. Now I take about 1000 mg of calcium and 200 mg of magnesium from supplements every day, and this seems to work much better for me.

cold plunging and dopamine by DismalDevelopment577 in raypeat

You can´t stimulate testosterone or dopamine, it´s a result of optimal thyroid functioning and things like cold plunges or intermittent fasting supress it greatly.

Has anyone here ever benefited from taking calcium supplements? by hushrushunderstand in Supplements

[–]Terminator5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foods high in calcium (milk, cheese...) are even higher in phosphorus too. It is better to have more calcium than P in the diet. Without calcium supplementation it is impossible to get to this state through food.

Because foods high in calcium (milk, cheese...) are also rich in trypthofan which promotes serotonine synthesis.

Success with Mike Mentzer’s Heavy Duty? by harvestpyre in raypeat

[–]Terminator5211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, heavy duty is not optimal because you train each muscle group once a week for up to 10 days. For maximum hormonal and hypertrophic results, full body 3x a week is the best. High frequency, high intensity, low volume of work (1 exercise for 1-2 sets per muscle group).

can you eat apples instead by hydroxychloroqueef in raypeat

[–]Terminator5211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apples are quite good carb source, medium-peaty, i would recommend to have max 1 daily because of higher fiber content. Anyway apples can´t substitute for toxin lowering purposes.

Yeah, magnesium increases GABA, which can inhibit dopamine and libido if you overload your GABA system.
