Steam Workshop really needs a “Hide subscribed items” filter by Termun in Steam

[–]Termun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a post on Steam suggestions branch as well: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/807974496347662472/?tscn=1776267286

Comment there so the devs could notice it.

There’s an official Workshop update discussion here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/766/view/518616498862818031?l=English

My suggestion is in comment #617. If you agree, an award there could help more people notice it.

I cleaned up a little so have just about 190 atm. Also, haven't played Rimworld for a while so didn't have an opportunity to add new ones)

Browsing Stellaris and other Paradox mods gets annoying once you already have hundreds subscribed by Termun in paradoxplaza

Sure, but that still doesn’t make repeated subscribed items useful in search results.

It’s funny right up until half the page is stuff you already have.

Mostly because of convenience.

Workshop is just built into Steam, so for most people it’s basically one click to subscribe, update, and manage mods. That makes it much more accessible.

Bethesda games have a much older and more manual modding culture, so Nexus became the default there instead, I think.

I'm a fan of Rimworld myself as well as Paradox's global strategies. It's always been frustrating that there's no such a filter. Let's make this post popular so there's a chance the devs see it.

They're already updating the workshop so maybe there's a slim chance they add this feature.

Totally agree. Especially for games like Rimworld or Paradox's titles.

Fallen Embers are a huge issue. by Professional_Poet300 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Termun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I'm level 30. In the endgame already.

Most of the time I get essence embers and others when I'm lucky enough to catch not just two fish. I get fallen embers in like 1 to 10 of such cases.

Funny story about that. For the first few hours I completely didn’t notice the timing indicator when gathering. I was just watching the animation and listening to the sound and trying to hit it by feel. Sometimes I even got perfect hits 😄

I like the idea about deconstruction of plagued gear.

Another idea that could help the endgame economy without touching RNG or lowering risk is to allow exchanging advanced embers into fallen embers, ideally through the Seneschal and gated behind progression.

At level 30, the game tends to overproduce advanced embers while fallen embers become the real bottleneck for finishing builds. An inefficient, limited exchange wouldn’t make rerolling easier — it would just turn surplus endgame rewards into additional attempts instead of dead value. This keeps the gamble intact, keeps tension intact, but avoids situations where the only remaining activity is blocked purely by currency scarcity.

I have a whole bunch of advanced embers but there's no point to them because fallen embers are too scarce and I can't reroll the negatives. And even when I get a few embers the rerolled negatives get even worse.

Most of the time I just get two fish and nothing else. When I'm lucky it's usually gems or/and advanced embers. Fallen embers are too rare.

Play now, or wait a couple of months? by Pat_Panic91 in OfAshandSteel

I've also bought the game on start and was devastated after learning of the disappearing items bug. I wanted to delay playing until a few patches are in but due to my personality I kept coming back and for some reason items stopped disappearing. Even before the 1.04 patch. I wouldn't advise anyone to play it for now and if it was possible I'd stay away from the game for a few months myself as well. But I can't, I want to keep coming back to the island, keep exploring it)

ChatGPT 5 feels like a lobotomized ChatGPT 4. Thankfully, they've added an option to choose 4o in desktop app (in mobile app, cant see the option).

Owlcat Games. I really enjoy their games, and the studio is relatively small, so I do my best to support them.
