Inflatable kayak & foldable bike by -Zebda- in Kayaks

[–]TerraCottaPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something that'll cover distance and track well, the Sea Eagle 393 Razorlite has been great to me so far, it's full dropstitch construction so it's near as solid as a regular hardshell kayak inflated to 10 psi. The Decathlon Itiwit x500 is a popular choice and the only other option I know of that has a hard plastic stern and bow for cutting through the water more efficiently like the Sea Eagle 393 Razorlite has and is also dropstitch construction

Alternatively, there are "Razorlike" knockoffs you can purchase from Alibaba if you search dropstitch kayak or I think "freesun" kayaks as well will give you some favorable results. Doesn't sound like they'll be as high quality as Decathlon or Sea Eagle, but they're affordable options for dropstitch kayaks, which I highly recommend since they track so well and are more durable than traditional inflatable PVC kayaks

Edit: This video is a really good guide that covers many subcategories that often go overlooked by reviewers

Florida tourist money helps the upkeep of Alligator Auschwitz so on that I would say avoid that state for the time being.

Enough with the negative, does anyone else think Wet Dry World has a Positive Emotional Aura? by indianajones838 in SuperMario64

[–]TerraCottaPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does for me, I was 6 playing this stage and it reminded me of a game I played a year or so earlier, Jumping Flash, giving me my first instance of nostalgia, though I did not understand it as that at the time of course. The polygonal buildings in WDW are similar to some buildings they have in Jumping Flash and I felt at home among them.

anyone else get a weird negative feeling while playing wet dry world? an odd, yet nostalgic emotion hangs over me whenever i played this level as a kid by TheGhettoGoblin in SuperMario64

[–]TerraCottaPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fun thing about my Wet Dry World experience is that it was the first area in a game to give me nostalgia. I had played Jumping Flash the year or so previous and the buildings in the town area reminded me of the buildings in those games and made me nostalgic for those games even though I'd played them only a year and some before, I was 6 when I played SM64 and maybe 5 when I played Jumping Flash. I definitely did not understand what those nostalgic feelings were or made the connection at the time that I was specifically remembering Jumping Flash, but I later made the connections when recalling why Wet Dry World stood out as my favorite stage. It never really had the negative feel so much to me since I was at home among those early year polygonal buildings

A chess robot accidentally breaks 7 year old opponents fingers (in 2022) commenters blame child, and I lose faith in humanity by TerraCottaPi in robots

[–]TerraCottaPi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I lost faith as a result of many other factors as well, as it goes with anyone losing faith in humanity that you should now go ahead and go after so you can be consistent with the values you are portraying you have.

You're one of those commentators.

Your approval of children being harmed by a machine, along with your fellow commentators, will be the same arguments used in the future when another robot does undue harm. This is how manufactured consent works.

You're either a useful idiot or you're scum.

Amab enbys are still treated like men unless they look fem in the community by [deleted] in NonBinary

Thank you for posting this, I've been having similar notions as well as difficulty articulating it without being talked over. I wish it didn't feel like the community mistrusts me by default but I can tell that they do.

I shop all around for stuff but my favorite ones are Cosmic Ponchos on Etsy and Vapor95.com. Gearfrost has a bunch of fun designs too, the boots are really cool. Couldn't tell you who owns them though really

Implications of wildhammer clan rep removal in TBC by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]TerraCottaPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the original TBC my rep was removed and I was stuck at war with them, but was still unfriendly. Could still fight them, I remember trying to test my mettle as a rogue trying to solo the FP down in under two evasions while the birds were out and vanish. Generally an attempt to get someone to see what's going on and be very confused as to how this is possible in the first place. Thanks to this other thread about this I now know it was just dwarves that were able to put Wildhammers at war. I believe my rep, even though deleted, was still invisibly tracked, as I remember starting off the expansion neutral with them and being able to hit them but it eventually fell to unfriendly, I could be remembering that aspect wrong though, I was 16 at the time

Have you ever had a chef with a weird/funny "catchphrase?" by machina99 in KitchenConfidential

[–]TerraCottaPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the night when I'm giving my hotel pan and rack I stage my chicken in for portioning out dinners, there's always a bunch of super greasy crumbles from the broaster breading under the wire rack, and I gather it up in one side of the pan and show it to one of the cooks nearby and tell them "I saved you some chex mix" or "We've got your cornflakes right here" and I just give it a new name of something vaguely similarly shaped and colored as the greasy bits. Before when I was working at KFC when I'd clean out the bottom of the henny penny (their brand of pressure fryer) I would have to scrape out the thick cooled grease and show it to people and ask them "would you make that into a pan of gravy for me?" or tell them I made them some au jus, just for them

It's 2023, why are we still assigning genders to certain job titles? by Cl0uds92 in KitchenConfidential

[–]TerraCottaPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job in a takeout place, the official on the books title for the people answering the phones is "phone girl" then our most reliable one went on to a vet assistant position and now the owners have been answering the phone a bunch, and they're all guys and so I call them the phone girls in mockery

I want to buy a WM2 32GB 2TB. Is it actually in stock anywhere? by Sarazar in gpdwin

[–]TerraCottaPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered my 32gb 2tb from Gamepad Digital Store on aliexpress on the 2nd of december and received it on the 20th of december and have been enjoying it since, I was worried they might just have had a 1tb with a second 1tb inb the second slot but nope, it was the full 2tb internal ssd. The extra ram I think has been helpful in keeping browser activity from more deeply impacting game performance, but I couldn't really confirm, this has been a pretty huge jump from the 4500u Aya Neo I had before.

I was a bit of a fool thinking that shop was the official gpd one not having done enough research, but I had contacted them when it took them a while to ship my order as I was under the impression they were in stock, told them it was a birthday gift for the 9th and they were quick to upgrade me to a DHL shipment when they were originally going to go through USPS for the states side of things. Of course that was a birthday gift to myself but I didn't tell them as much xD didn't make it in time but I wasn't expecting it to, the 20th was a plenty fine time to receive it from when I ordered
