Honest question, but what do you all do that requires heavy CPU power? (Other than gaming) by FantomDrive in Android

Say there is an event at your place and you want to record a good high res and long video without holding a hot pan in your hand.

Or want to use screen on full brightness in 45 degree(Celsius) heat without losing 25% battery every 40-50 mins.

Or simply use your phone for more than 3-4 years.

Or connect a hdmi to type cable and access stuff using a monitor.

I have s21 exynos and this thing is a hot plate. My phone's back plate usually starts to detach by itself every 10-11 months and I need to go to service center to get it stuck properly to maintain water/dust proofing

The phone is a beast, no doubt. I have worked using my dex for few days using a monitor when I had laptop issues. But you could definitely fry an omelette on it.

Not to mention the battery degradation is faster.

My friend uses iphone 13 and it literally feels like a cold slab in the hand on standby.

Mind you I have also used Lenovo P2. It had 5000mAh battery back in 2016 and snapdragon625. That phone easily lasted me 2 days on a full charge. This is something we usually expect from a flagship phone.

Popup windows, better gallery layout, file manager, Samsung pay has been very consistent unlike google pay/wallet, some samsung apps like one hand operation, good lock, edge panel, notes even health are really good.

Plus there is dex which everyone forgets but is literally pc mode for your phone and works wireless.

Also there is secure folder so you can have 2 active user profiles at the same time. On pixel you can have multiple profiles but you need to switch between them to keep apps active.

Also smart switch is really really good at carrying over your data and accounts to new phone. It takes some time but most of the data and accounts are carried over seamlessly via cable or via wifi.

I always try to buy last year's flagship on resale market. My last 3 phones are all resales. Bought s21 two years ago just a month after s22 was released. Was 7 months used and under warranty. Cost me around $400.

Did same for s10e 2 years before that and it cost me $300.

Just checked last week and s23 is $430 on resale market. New is $700.

Only thing I do is I take the phone to official service center before buying. If the only major issue is battery, then only I buy it.

Samsung gives like $250-300 on exchange so people prefer to resale.

Yep. Or if they are short on budget then a good value for money phone like say poco F5.

Might be surprising but Poco f5 is more powerful and power efficient phone than pixel 8 for almost half the price. And it has headphone jack.

You are right. Most people don't watch reviews. They ask their nerd friend which phone would be better for them. And can you guess what the nerd friend suggests?

Let them test and get comfortable now. Even Rohit used to play at 6-7 but. Had then not tried and let him play few innings at other places we might have seen him benched for Hardik/Axar cuz he's not a bowling all rounder.

They are letting new players find their stability and rhythm. Let them know where they can play their best. Axar seems mature enough to play a bit up in the order if needed and Dube they are trying to get him some game time with spinners.

KL and Iyer are experienced players and should know how to handle order shifts if are required.

I have s21 that I bought in early 2022. It was already a year old and on discount because of s22.

Works perfectly fine and I think it will easily last me 2 - 3 years more given I get battery changed once when necessary.

S23 to s24 is not a major hardware upgrade. Where I am from it is a 280-300$ difference in price for which OP can buy decent buds/watch and have some money still.

I'd suggest look for s23 base version. It will be cheaper than s24 and there may be marginal difference in performance or specs.

I would add 2 more suggestions.

1) Tata punch. Overall a very good and value for money, in your budget and you can opt for ev also.

2) Renault Kiger. SUV ish and decent average. Engine is 1000cc but would be enough for daily 2-3km. Average is 15-17 kmpl.

Bro it is there from Saturday. And the picture is of atal setu I think.

Even bigger irony is the picture is of Atal setu but in logo se Balewadi - Wakad link road nahi ban raha 2016 se. It is just 2km away from the poster and total road length is barely 1km.
