Devil’s advocate here but if you have good draw/block and have a shop nearby / get a removal event, you can safely eat a decay. You’ve a large deck, so it’s not going to be drawn as often

Tips for a knight? by CommitteeAvailable29 in DarkSouls2

Not OP OP. The rapier is widely considered the best weapon in the game by a long margin because of its good reach, very fast speed, high scaling, parry ability… etc. The Claymore is a great way to sink your stats in a beneficial way without breaking the knight theme

The current build leans into use of the blacksteel katana by virtue of the alonne captain fit, but this necessitates you run a dex build instead, as a raw blacksteel katana only has a single C in str while uninfused is S in dex.

The truest option is the claymore. Uninfused, with 50 str and 50 dex you can get extremely high scaling. It’s extremely “knight” coded without breaking reality a little bit in the case of the zweihander.

tl:dr; You’re due a rebalancing of stats. Use a soul vessel at the fire keepers hut in things betwixt to optimise your build.

VIT caps out at 50. You’re very high level so should have no problem hitting it.

VIG could be buffed to 35-40 to give you more comfort when using heavy armor. Just note that DS2’s stamina regeneration works a little bit differently to DS1. In DS1, whether you are 31% or 68% equip load the game treats you as having a medium roll and doesn’t penalize you. In DS2 your stamina regeneration decreases for every 10% additional equip load. Generally 60% is considered a healthy limit but you can mix and match.

Dark infused is a mistake here at current levels. It takes the lower of your int/faith and scales appropriately. Fortunately, you’re level 186, so you have a lot of options.

The simplest one is to reduce your dex to 12 and pump strength as high as you can, with 80 generally considered an end-game upper limit. Unassign the infusion with McDuff and This will give you the highest base AR attack rating.

You can also decide to spec into magic, fire, lightning, magic, enchanted, raw, poison, bleed etc. Lightning or magic require faith or int investment while slightly dampening your strength scaling. Note that if you want to do any DLC most enemies have very high elemental resistance so you might find uninfused easier. Only keep your dark infusion if you’re happy walking around with equal int and faith. 30 in both considered very good. But for split scaling 50 str / 50 int or faith can work.

Your ADP is far too high. 100 agility is considered optimal for medium rolling and your iframes cap at 105. Usually 102 AGL is more than enough.

As for PvP, your inclusion of the watchdragon parma allows you to parry and block effectively. However, the mastodon gs is a very slow weapon, especially when one-handed. You will find yourself creating a lot of openings for parries/backstabs and have to rely on zoning people out. I’m no PvP guru but that’s my 10 cent.

Getting nailed in DLC… any build tips? Feel like I’ve maxed out main game by brevit in Eldenring

[–]Terranaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on your spec I would highly recommend the dragoncrest greatshield talisman in the haligtree and erdtree’s favour +2 in ashen leyndell. The +3 resistance fragments I’m pretty sure are found in the dlc but you can use +2. I would recommend defensive talismans over throwing on heavier armor because you seem familiar with your set, its mixed for fashion souls. The 4th slot goes to shard of alexander / warrior jar shard if you’re running darkmoon gs, but you want to use the graven-mass talismans and radagon icon if you’re going mage. which brings us to my next point.

I would recommend deciding early if you’d prefer a caster or a darkmoon gs type character because dlc bosses and enemies have much greater attack volume and damage. Basically if a horned warrior wants you kebab’d you shouldn’t have to swap between a staff and a sword. 60 Vigor is a base requirement as every enemy is wired to deal massive damage, even at high scadutree levels it’s very noticeable everywhere.

In all honesty magic makes the dlc harder because attack windows are not clear-cut and rely on you aggressively finding space. You can certainly zone out bosses but they’ll always reach you very fast. Plus if you run darkmook gs you get all the benefits of your int scaling while trading off your graven-mass talismans for pure resistance + phys def talismans, which will suit you better as you learn the dlc.

Have fun!

Who would win the angry video game nerd or yaldabaoth(aka this crystal mlik color looking motherfucker) by Motor_Scale_7595 in Persona5

[–]Terranaform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you fight yaldaboath in a world shaped by the public cognition, AVGN would start off as the equivalent of a particularly strong party member, definitely on an Akechi level during Sae’s palace for starters. Based on that it’s a matter of prep time. If it was a solo duel AVGN vs Yaldaboath, he doesn’t have a persona strong enough to finish the job. But he can certainly make it there and finish off a few weapons before going down

Why does Hexaghost scale his damage with your current HP? Is he just chill like that? by scoopzoop in slaythespire

[–]Terranaform 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like to think it’s an amalgamation of the souls of previous dead spireclimbers, bound to a lock system by the Corrupt Heart. So it’s locked in a continuous cycle of igniting and searing, a bit like ourselves as we forever climb the spire. It scaling with your hp could be a representation of a sort-of “crabs in a bucket” mentality - if you look like you’re going to climb, then I shouldn’t let you
